About me and my therapy practice
I work integratively, which means I tailor therapy to you rather than expecting you to fit into one model. My foundation is person-centred, offering warmth, empathy and a non-judgmental space where you can explore what you鈥檙e feeling at your own pace. I believe that meaningful change happens when you feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to go deeper, and understood enough to make sense of your internal world.
Alongside this, I weave in psychodynamic perspectives, attachment theory and trauma-informed approaches. This allows us to explore not only what is happening in your life now, but the patterns, relationships and past experiences that may still be shaping your emotions, choices and sense of self. My approach is relational鈥攚hat happens between us often mirrors what happens in other parts of your life, and exploring this can bring new awareness and clarity.
I work collaboratively rather than as the expert who 鈥渇ixes鈥 you. You bring your lived experience; I bring therapeutic knowledge, attunement and curiosity. Together, we create a space where you can process difficult emotions, understand yourself more deeply, and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. I aim to be both gently supportive and thoughtfully challenging when it can help you move forward. My style is steady, compassionate and grounded, with a focus on building emotional resilience, self-trust and authentic connection.
Practice description
My practice offers a calm, confidential space where you can bring whatever feels heavy, confusing or painful. I support adults experiencing grief, trauma, anxiety, identity and relationship difficulties, as well as those feeling stuck, disconnected or overwhelmed by life. I also have experience working within bereavement services, supporting individuals through profound loss and the complex emotions that accompany it.
I bring both professional training and the insight of someone who has experienced therapy personally. I understand how vulnerable it can feel to seek support and how transformative it can be to be truly heard. This lived experience shapes the compassion and grounded presence I bring to my work.
Sessions are paced according to your needs鈥攕low and gentle when things feel raw, more exploratory when you鈥檙e ready to understand deeper patterns. Whether we are exploring your past, your relationships or the challenges you鈥檙e facing right now, the intention is always to help you feel more connected, more resilient and more aligned with who you are becoming.
My practice is regularly supervised, and I stay committed to ongoing professional development, including trauma-informed practice, relational work and psychosexual training. If you鈥檙e considering starting therapy, I offer a supportive space where you don鈥檛 have to navigate things alone鈥攁 place where your story can unfold in safety, depth and understanding.
My first session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to gently get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. I know starting can feel daunting, especially if you鈥檙e unsure what to say or where to begin, so I guide the pace in a way that feels comfortable and grounded.
During our initial meeting, I invite you to share whatever you feel able to鈥攚hether that鈥檚 the specific issue you鈥檙e struggling with, a general sense of overwhelm, or simply the feeling that something needs to change. There is no right or wrong way to begin. My role is to listen closely, ask thoughtful questions and help you feel safe enough to explore at your own pace.
We鈥檒l talk about what you hope to gain from therapy and what feels most important for you right now. I may also ask about your background, relationships, and any patterns you鈥檝e noticed in your life, but only if it feels appropriate and helpful. This session is not an assessment you need to 鈥減ass.鈥 It is a space for you to arrive as you are.
I also explain how I work, what you can expect from the therapeutic process, and how we can work together in a way that supports your goals. You鈥檙e welcome to ask questions about anything鈥攎y approach, confidentiality, or any concerns you may have.
By the end of the session, you should have a sense of whether you feel comfortable with me, and whether my approach feels like the right fit. There is no pressure to commit on the spot; you鈥檙e free to take time to reflect.
My aim for the first session is simple: to offer a calm, respectful space where you feel heard, welcomed, and supported as we begin unfolding your story together.
