About me and my therapy practice

I'm Sandra Mazili, an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor at Inner Action Counselling. I offer accessible counselling online, by phone, text, email, and through limited in-person appointments in Hampton Hill.

I work with adults, couples and young people aged 13+, particularly those navigating bereavement, pet loss, disability, chronic illness, trauma, identity, relationship difficulties and major life changes.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck or disconnected from yourself, or carrying experiences that are difficult to put into words. Perhaps you've struggled to find support that feels right or been left believing your experiences are somehow "too much". I offer a space where you don't have to minimise, justify or explain yourself. Together we can explore what has happened, what matters to you, and how you want to move forward.

For young people, counselling offers a place to talk openly about anxiety, identity, relationships, family, education, disability, loss, or simply feeling different, without pressure to have all the answers.

My lived experience of sight loss shapes how I work. Being blind has taught me about adaptation, resilience, grief and rediscovering identity after profound change. It has also shown me that people are always more than any diagnosis, disability or circumstance.

I am an accredited Sight Loss Counsellor, supporting people affected by visual impairment, disability, chronic illness and life-changing health conditions.

Alongside private practice, I have over 10 years' experience supporting people through emotional distress, crisis, grief and trauma, including with Shout's 24-hour text support service and the Blue Cross Pet Bereavement Support Service. I am also a trainer with Cruse Bereavement Support, an associate counsellor with Suicide and Co, and a counsellor with Wellbeing in the Arts.

I understand what it can feel like to be seen in ways that bring discomfort, shame or vulnerability.

Practice description

My approach is collaborative, relational, and trauma-informed. I work primarily from a Person-Centred framework, integrating Psychodynamic, CBT, somatic, and creative approaches where these may be helpful.

Sometimes words alone don't fully capture an experience. When appropriate, we may explore different ways of working, including:

• Sound, music, or voice

• Drawing, creativity, and imagery

• Movement and bodily awareness

• Texture and sensory exploration

• Multi-sensory visualisation

These approaches can help access emotions safely, deepen self-understanding, and develop your own language for what you're experiencing.

Accessibility is central to my practice. Sessions are available online, by telephone, text, email, and through limited face-to-face appointments in Hampton Hill. The counselling room has a wheelchair-accessible ramped entrance, lift access to the therapy room, and accessible facilities.

If spoken communication is inaccessible or not your preferred way of working, we can work via live chat, text-based counselling, or email. All client documents are available in screen-reader accessible and Braille-friendly formats.

I use a Green Bottle pricing model, offering three fee levels so clients can choose the rate that best reflects their circumstances. Sliding-scale places and concessions are available for students and people on lower incomes. Please get in touch if you feel this may apply to you.

Extended sessions are available at no additional cost for Tellus users. Information about fees, couples counselling and group work can be found on my website.

Sessions are available as:

• Online video counselling

• Telephone counselling

• Text-based counselling

• Email counselling

• Limited in-person appointments (Thursdays)

I offer a free 15–20 minute consultation to help us decide whether working together feels right. I aim to respond to enquiries within 24 hours on weekdays.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and explore what has brought you to counselling.

Before we begin our therapeutic work, we'll make sure that any registration forms, agreements, and practical arrangements have been completed and fully understood. I'm happy to explain anything that isn't clear and to provide information in accessible formats where needed.

The remainder of the session is focused on understanding what you would like support with, what you hope counselling might offer, and how we might work together moving forward.

There is no pressure to tell your whole story straight away. We will work at a pace that feels manageable and appropriate for you.
