About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I鈥檓 Amalia. I鈥檓 an integrative counsellor, which basically means I don鈥檛 believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I draw from different methods depending on what you need, rather than relying on what a textbook suggests should work.
I鈥檝e worked with people facing all kinds of things鈥攇rief, loss, the messiness of relationships, identity questions, and the type of life changes that turn everything upside down. I also have experience supporting people who are living with incurable or life-limiting illnesses, and those who are grieving someone they鈥檝e lost. These are the conversations many people avoid, but I believe they鈥檙e some of the most important ones we can have.
My style is honest, grounded, and human. You don鈥檛 have to pretend to be okay with me. Therapy isn鈥檛 about fixing you鈥攊t鈥檚 about making space for whatever you鈥檙e carrying, without judgment.
I鈥檓 also comfortable working with clients whose lives and experiences don鈥檛 always fit the 鈥渘orm.鈥 If you鈥檙e exploring kink, non-traditional relationships, or feel like your story doesn鈥檛 quite match the standard script, I offer a space where that鈥檚 not just accepted鈥攊t鈥檚 welcomed.
Practice description
Therapy is a space where you get to say the things you might not say anywhere else.
It鈥檚 not about being 鈥榝ixed鈥 or told what to do. It鈥檚 about having someone alongside you while you figure things out in your own time, at your own pace. Sometimes that means talking about things that hurt, or things you鈥檝e never said out loud before. Sometimes it means sitting in silence for a bit, or just trying to make sense of what鈥檚 going on in your head.
I鈥檓 not here to give you all the answers鈥攂ut I鈥檒l ask good questions, help you notice patterns, and stay with you while you explore what matters.
You don鈥檛 need to have a 鈥榖ig鈥 reason to come to therapy. Maybe you鈥檙e feeling stuck, or lost, or like things just aren鈥檛 quite right. Maybe something happened and you鈥檙e still trying to catch up with it emotionally. Or maybe you鈥檙e just tired of carrying it all on your own.
Whatever you鈥檙e bringing, we start where you are. Together we鈥檒l build a space where you can be honest, even if it鈥檚 messy, even if it鈥檚 complicated. Especially then.
My first session
The first session lasts up to an hour is charged at 拢75 and gives us a chance to get to know each other a bit. You can talk about what鈥檚 brought you to counselling and what鈥檚 going on for you right now. I鈥檒l ask a few gentle questions to understand your background and what kind of support you鈥檙e looking for.
It鈥檚 not a test or an interview鈥攋ust a conversation. There鈥檚 no pressure to decide anything straight away. You鈥檙e welcome to take some time after the session to think about whether it feels like a good fit.
If for any reason I鈥檓 not the right person to support you, I鈥檒l be honest about that鈥攁nd I鈥檒l do my best to help you find someone who is.
