About me and my therapy practice
I enjoy working with men and women from all walks of life, with diverse needs and experiences. I bring kindness and curiosity to our work together, creating a supportive and collaborative space where we can begin to make meaning of your experience.
I work relationally, whereby the therapeutic relationship we co-create holds potential to become a vehicle for change. I facilitate self-exploration and greater self-awareness, enabling you to ultimately know and trust yourself more.
As we reflect on your past and present, we may notice relational patterns you have developed throughout your life, and your ways of being in relationship with yourself, others and the world around you. Space can be created to process your thoughts and emotions, as I support you in developing greater self-acceptance and self-compassion.
Through this process, therapy can help you to feel more connected, and pathways towards positive change can be explored, allowing for a greater sense of freedom in everyday life.
Practice description
I am an integratively trained psychotherapeutic counsellor - BSc (Hons), drawing on a range of theories and approaches.
I work across a broad range of issues and have an open-minded approach to whatever you bring. I have experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, low self esteem, relationship issues, communication problems, life transitions. I can help you to explore feelings around identity, difference, belonging, isolation, anger, frustration, shame, loss and feeling stuck.
I work relationally, drawing from psychodynamic and humanistic theory, and integrating developmental & Attachment theories as a way of understanding relational patterns, unconscious processes, and how the past informs the present. An overarching Mindfulness based approach encourages presence and greater self acceptance and compassion.
I am registered MÂ鶹Դ´ and also an accredited member of NCPS. My work is insured and professionally supervised. I adhere to Â鶹Դ´, NCPS & UKCP codes of ethics.
I welcome the spectrum of difference and individuality that each person brings to therapy.
I enjoy working with individuals with ADHD, autism, neurodivergence, diagnosed or otherwise.
I have previous experience working in a school for Autistic children, and have training from the Anna Freud Centre with AT-Autism - these broaden my view and understanding of neurodivergence, an area of particular interest.
My first session
I meet with clients weekly, in-person, short & long-term, in comfortable & welcoming therapy rooms on Kings Parade in Cambridge city centre.
An initial session is offered free of charge to explore what you are looking for in therapy, for you to find out more about the way I work, and to see if we are a good fit.
If you would like to arrange a brief phonecall in the first instance, we can arrange that too.
