About me and my therapy practice
I’m Sophie an integrative counsellor and registered member of the Â鶹Դ´, offering face to face, online and telephone sessions. My core approach is Person-Centred, which means I provide a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings.
My own positive experience of therapy inspired me to become a counsellor and as an integrative therapist, I draw from a range of approaches to suit your individual needs. Alongside my Person-Centred core approach, I incorporate elements of Transactional Analysis (TA), which looks at the way we relate to others as well as ourselves, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness. These can offer practical tools and insight to help you understand patterns in your relationships, challenge unhelpful thinking, and develop new coping strategies.
I have experience working with a range of issues including trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, life transitions and other mental health problems. My aim is to walk alongside you with empathy and respect, supporting you to find healing and personal growth in a way that feels right for you.
Practice description
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Counselling and have completed over four years of professional training, developing a strong theoretical foundation alongside extensive practical experience. I work with both adults and young people and have experience supporting individuals affected by trauma, anxiety, abuse, depression, low self-esteem, suicidal ideation, and other mental health challenges.
Alongside my adult work, I have many years’ experience working with children and young people (CYP), including those with neurodiversity. This experience informs my practice with adults too, particularly in understanding developmental trauma, attachment patterns, and early life experiences.
My integrative training enables me to draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, tailoring each session to the unique needs of every client. To ensure safe and effective practice in an online setting, I have completed a recognised Online and Telephone Counselling qualification. I have also undertaken ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), enhancing my ability to work confidently, ethically, and compassionately with clients experiencing suicidal thoughts or self-harm.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹Դ´) and practise fully in accordance with their Ethical Framework.
