About me and my therapy practice
Do you ever feel a gentle but constant tension running through your days - like your mind is always quietly working, thinking ahead, or replaying moments? For many people, anxiety doesn鈥檛 shout. It shows up as a tight chest, a restless mind, or a sense of being 鈥渙n alert鈥 even when nothing is wrong.
You might seem calm and capable on the outside, yet inside it can feel as though you鈥檙e carrying a weight that never quite lifts. That ongoing strain can make it harder to rest, to feel present, or to find small moments of ease. Over time, it can leave you feeling tired, unsure of yourself, or disconnected from your own needs.
Perhaps you鈥檙e the one others rely on - the steady, responsible person who keeps things going. But you may not remember the last time you felt supported or had space to simply breathe.
Therapy can offer a different kind of space. A calm, accepting place where you don鈥檛 have to hold everything together. Somewhere you can gently put things down, feel understood, and begin to notice your body soften.
I鈥檓 Tonya. I support adults who grew up in environments that weren鈥檛 emotionally attuned - places where you learned to stay small, stay quiet, or take care of others. Those early experiences often show up later as anxiety, people鈥憄leasing, or feeling permanently on edge.
My approach is warm, steady, and person鈥慶entred. You set the pace. I walk alongside you with care, helping you explore patterns gently and build a deeper sense of safety, self鈥慶ompassion, and clarity.
Many people find that, over time, something shifts. They feel less on edge, more grounded, and more able to make choices that honour their needs. They begin to feel like themselves again.
I offer a free 20鈥憁inute consultation so you can get a sense of whether working together feels right. Sessions are 拢45 for 50 minutes, with online appointments available during the day and evening. If I鈥檓 fully booked, I offer a waiting list.

The free 20-minute consultation is a gentle conversation where you can ask questions and see how it feels to talk together.
Sessions are 拢45 for 50 minutes.
Online appointments are available during the day and evening.
If I鈥檓 full, I offer a waiting list.
If something here resonates, you鈥檙e welcome to reach out.
You don鈥檛 have to carry everything alone.
My first session
Our first session is there to give us a steady starting point. We鈥檒l spend most of the time going through a gentle questionnaire together. This helps me get a clearer picture of you, your background, and what鈥檚 brought you to counselling. It鈥檚 simply a way for me to understand you better so I can support you in a way that feels right for you.
This first session isn鈥檛 about diving straight into difficult things. It鈥檚 about slowing down, building safety, and making sure we have the context we need. By the end, you鈥檒l have had space to share what feels important, and I鈥檒l have a better sense of how to walk alongside you in the sessions ahead.
I offer sessions at a pace that works best for you. Some people find a weekly rhythm supportive, especially when exploring anxiety, relationship patterns, or the impact of earlier experiences. Others prefer to meet more or less often, depending on what feels manageable and helpful. Together, we can find a frequency that supports your wellbeing, builds trust at a comfortable pace, and gives you the space you need to process whatever arises.
