About me and my therapy practice

Growth is rooted in connection. Therapy does not have to focus solely on managing distress. It can also help you understand yourself more deeply and move towards a life that feels more meaningful and fulfilling. Finding a counsellor who feels right for you can be a significant step, and I offer a warm, thoughtful space in which we can begin that process together.

I work primarily with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma and relationship difficulties, including those who feel emotionally stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected from themselves or the world around them. Many of the people I support are thoughtful and self-aware, but have found that insight alone has not created the change they hoped for. Our work can bring greater emotional clarity, explore what may be keeping you stuck, and help you develop a stronger sense of who you are and how you want to live. Where helpful, I can also integrate solution-focused approaches such as Clinical Hypnotherapy that build upon your existing strengths, clarify what you would like to change and support meaningful movement forwards.

My approach is person-centred at its core, grounded in humanistic values and a genuine curiosity about your individual experience. I believe the relationship between counsellor and client is central to therapy. I therefore offer a consistent, reflective space where your experiences can be explored with care, rather than hurried, judged or simply managed. I work from a trauma-informed and relational perspective, paying attention to early attachment experiences, subconscious patterns, and the ways past relationships may continue to shape how you feel, relate and respond in the present.

I have a particular interest in anxiety, relationships and neurodivergence, and in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals. I welcome adult clients of all genders, backgrounds and beliefs, and aim to offer therapy in which every part of your identity can be recognised, respected and understood.

Practice description

Sessions are 50 minutes long.

I can offer face-to-face appointments from a friendly Wellbeing Centre in Clarendon Park, Leicester, and a Health and Wellbeing Hub in Whetstone, Leicester. Online appointments are also available.

While person-centred counselling remains the foundation of my work, my training in Clinical Hypnotherapy scaffolds my wider understanding and competence in the therapeutic space. This includes an awareness of embodied and subconscious processes, as well as the impact of early relational experiences, where these are relevant to the work we are doing together. These interventions can be incorporated as a standalone option, or used integratively, where they may serve the therapeutic process. Should you wish to book standalone Hypnotherapy, please state this in your initial enquiry.

We can work short-term or long-term, depending on your needs and wishes, and this can be reviewed at any point through collaborative discussion.

I invite you to visit my website for further information about how I can help. Reach out for a free initial conversation to see if we’re the right fit.
