You’re welcome to get in touch if you’d like to explore working together or arrange an initial conversation.

About me and my therapy practice

I specialise in anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, and abuse. I offer a calm, steady space where you can speak openly and be met with clarity and care. My approach is collaborative, and we make sense of things together rather than following a set formula.

My foundation is person centred, and I bring in CBT tools when they are useful, such as noticing patterns or breaking things into manageable steps. These are always offered gently and only if they fit your way of working.

I support people with a wide range of experiences, including attachment issues and the emotional and identity shifts that can come with menopause and other hormonal changes. I work well with those who want a straightforward, honest space to explore the things that feel heavy, confusing, or difficult to say out loud. I bring a sense of humour when it helps, never forced, simply part of creating a space where you can be fully yourself.

My aim is to help you feel more grounded, understand yourself more clearly, and find ways forward that feel realistic and authentic to you. If you would like to get a sense of whether we would work well together, you are welcome to get in touch for an initial conversation.

Practice description

I offer face‑to‑face counselling in the Mansfield and Nottinghamshire area and online. My practice is built around providing a steady, supportive space where you can talk openly about what’s going on in your life. People come to me with a wide range of experiences, anxiety, low mood, confidence, trauma, grief, phobias or simply feeling overwhelmed or stuck. Together, we look at what’s happening, what’s getting in the way, and what might help things feel more workable.

Sessions are shaped around your needs. Some weeks you may want space to talk and make sense of things; other weeks you may want something more structured. I use a person‑centred approach and integrate CBT techniques when they’re useful, offering practical tools without losing the relational focus.

You can expect honesty, support, and a collaborative approach. If you’re considering counselling and want to see whether my way of working feels right for you, feel free to get in touch — I’m always happy to talk things through.

My first session

Before booking a full session, I offer a free 15‑minute telephone call so you can get a sense of me and ask any questions. There’s no pressure to commit it’s simply a chance to see whether working together feels right.

Your first full session includes a gentle assessment so I can understand what’s been happening for you and what you’re hoping to change. This isn’t a test or anything formal or intimidating, it’s a structured conversation that helps us get a clear picture of your situation. I may use simple tools to help us understand patterns, symptoms, or areas that feel particularly difficult.  We’ll also look at what you need from therapy, what feels comfortable, and how we might work going forward. You’re welcome to ask anything about the process or my approach.

The aim of the first session is to give you a clear sense of whether this feels like the right space and the right fit.
