About me and my therapy practice
I am a person-centred therapist. I offer an empathetic, open and non-judgemental space to explore issues together and support you in working towards your goals, at your pace. I listen carefully to and I am guided by what is important to you. Through our sessions together, we will work towards gaining a deeper understanding of the issues that are causing you distress or holding you back in some way and supporting you in making any changes that you feel will help you in living a happier and more fulfilling life.
If you are interested to know more about person-centred therapy, you can find information on the Â鶹Դ´ website (/about-therapy/types-of-therapy/person-centred-counselling/).
Please feel free to message me if you have any questions or to discuss possible arrangements for an initial session.
I am also happy to offer a free initial 15-minute telephone conversation, with no commitment, where we can briefly discuss what you are hoping to gain from therapy and whether I might be the right therapist for you, as well as any questions or concerns you may have.
A bit about my qualifications and training: I am a certified Â鶹Դ´ registered (MÂ鶹Դ´) counsellor and psychotherapist trained in person-centred therapy. I have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (Level 7, Â鶹Դ´ accredited) and an MA in Education (I have a background in education and training). I have also completed training in domestic abuse and trauma-informed counselling and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) techniques, which we can discuss integrating if you feel that might be beneficial for you.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity to discuss what you hope to gain from therapy and how we might work together. I can also explain a bit more about my approach and we can discuss any questions or concerns you may have. If you feel comfortable, we will start our work together. You might decide that you are not ready to continue with therapy at this point or that I am not the right therapist for you, in which case I may be able to help by suggesting other options.
