I currently offer both online and face to face appointments, with availability in the evenings and at weekends. Some flexibility may be available, so please feel free to get in touch to discuss what works best for you.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer a calm, confidential and supportive space where you can talk openly about whatever is going on for you, at your own pace. My aim is for you to feel accepted as you are, without judgement or criticism, so you can begin to say things out loud that may have felt difficult to share elsewhere.

This includes being able to talk about relationships in your life 鈥 whether with family, friends, partners, or others 鈥 even when things feel complicated or confusing. Many people worry about saying the 鈥渨rong鈥 thing, feeling disloyal, or not wanting to blame anyone. In our work together, there is no pressure to judge or label your experiences. Instead, we can gently explore what has happened, how it has affected you, and what it means for you now.

People often come to counselling carrying a lot on their own. This might include guilt, self-blame, overthinking, anxiety, or a sense of feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Sometimes there is a clear reason for coming, and other times it is simply a feeling that things are getting too much or not quite right anymore. However you arrive, we can start there.

I work in a relational and collaborative way, which means I see counselling as something we do together. You don鈥檛 need to have the right words or a clear direction 鈥 we can begin wherever you are and go at a pace that feels manageable.

My core training is in person-centred counselling, and I also draw on trauma-informed and solution-focused approaches where helpful. In practice, this means I will follow your lead, stay alongside you in what feels difficult, and support you in finding your own understanding of what you鈥檝e been through and what you might need moving forward.

Above all, I aim to offer a steady and respectful relationship where you feel heard, understood, and not judged. Many people find that simply having a space where they can speak freely, without worrying about being blamed or 鈥済etting it wrong鈥, can begin to ease some of the weight they鈥檝e been carrying.

Practice description

I offer one-to-one counselling in a calm, welcoming space where you can slow things down and talk about what鈥檚 really going on for you, without fear of judgement.

Many people come to counselling feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or as though they are carrying too much on their own. This might include feelings of guilt, self-doubt, anxiety, or overthinking things long after they鈥檝e happened. You may find yourself replaying situations, questioning your reactions, or wondering whether you are the problem. Others come because something in life just doesn鈥檛 feel right anymore, even if it鈥檚 hard to explain.

You don鈥檛 need to be in crisis to come to counselling, and you don鈥檛 need to have everything worked out before you begin. Often, the first step is simply having a space where you can speak freely and start to make sense of things at your own pace.

Together we can explore what鈥檚 been happening for you in a way that feels steady and manageable. This might involve understanding patterns in your thoughts, feelings, or relationships, looking at past experiences that still feel present, or finding ways to feel more grounded and supported in your everyday life.

I work with people from a range of backgrounds and life stages, including students and young adults. Sessions are shaped around what feels most important to you, rather than following a fixed agenda.

I offer both online and face-to-face sessions, with availability in the evenings and at weekends to support people balancing work, study, or other commitments.

My first session

I understand that coming to your first counselling session can feel like a big step. It鈥檚 very common to feel nervous, unsure of what to expect, or not know where to begin. Many people also feel uncertain about what they might say or worry about 鈥渄oing it right鈥 鈥 this is completely natural.

The first session is really a chance for us to meet and begin getting to know each other. Feeling comfortable and safe with the person you are working with is an important part of counselling, and trust can take time to build. We can take things gently and see how it feels to talk together.

You don鈥檛 need to prepare anything in advance or have things clearly worked out. We can start wherever you are on the day, even if that means simply saying you鈥檙e not sure where to begin. I will help guide the session in a way that feels supportive and manageable for you.

We will usually talk a little about what has brought you to counselling and what you might hope for from the process, but there is no pressure to go into anything before you feel ready.

If we decide to work together after the first session, I will send you a counselling agreement and an intake form. The intake form asks for some basic personal and contact details, including emergency contact information. This is part of working safely and responsibly, and your information is handled in line with GDPR and kept confidential and secure.

I will also explain how I work, including confidentiality and what you can expect from ongoing sessions. There will be space for any questions you might have, whether practical or about the counselling process itself.

Most importantly, the first session is an opportunity for you to get a sense of whether you feel comfortable working with me. Feeling safe, respected, and able to trust the person you are speaking to matters a great deal. We can take things step by step, and you are always free to decide what feels right for you
