Availability
I offer open ended sessions - meaning you can have as many, or as few as you need, and as often as you need. There is no 'rule.' Therapy has to be sustainable and accessible for you. You are in control - there is no pressure or obligation.
Sessions booked between 10am and 2pm are £40. Sessions from 3pm are £50.
About me and my therapy practice
I became a therapist because I have been where you are. I have been in the depths of the shadows and in the darkest parts of a huge hole. I have learnt to step out of those shadows and claw my way out of that hole. I've had my heart broken and my soul shattered, and I've never got over that pain, but I have learnt to grow around it.
Yes I have done the training, yes I have the credentials - but the reason I went into this profession is because I have been there.
Just because I have been there, I don't pretend to know where your head is at or what your feeling in the deepest parts of your soul. I don't pretend to know all the answers, or claim to know everything the books tell me.
I don't pretend I am a magical being that can wave a wand and make everything better instantly.
But what I do know, is what it feels like to be out on the other side.
What I do know is that I am another human being you can sit with.
We all need someone we can relate to - someone that we don't have to tip toe around. Someone we can be totally ourselves around and not be AT ALL sorry about it. Someone that can be YOUR person.
Those are the kinds of therapist's you will grow with. Where you can come in, throw your shoes off, pull the blanket over you and say "oh my...where do I start?!"
Those kinds of therapists do exist.

Practice description
I am trained in Person Centred Therapy - which ultimately, is a talking therapy. If it feels helpful for you, and you feel comfortable, we may bring in some elements of Psychodynamic therapy where we dive a bit deeper into past experiences and childhood and find links between those and any unhelpful behaviours and/or thoughts that might be showing up now. We may also bring in some CBT strategies, which can help in moments where your worries and anxiety might feel overpowering.
I also work with couples who are experiencing a range of difficulties within the relationship. I provide a safe space where we can explore what each other is saying and what we are hearing. Having a person support that communication can be helpful as it helps give a different perspective. It's also a contained space and time where both parties are given time to speak openly, without fear of any repercussions.
My first session
Your first session is to see if you feel a connection with me. The relationship between you and I is important for therapy to be effective. Natural depth of the therapy will only happen if you feel 100% comfortable and deep rooted trust.
We will go over some key aspects of our working agreement (which I would have sent you prior to our first session), and we will also complete a short assessment form. This is so I am aware of anything I need to know and so expectations are managed on both sides. Its important you have all the information before starting, so you can make a decision about whether you would like to proceed.
After the first session if you have felt that energy between us, you can book more. There is NO pressure or obligation to commit to anything.
You will know if you feel it, and this is what is important - because not every therapist is right for every client. So finding your person where you have that deep connection, that depth, that sense of safety is paramount.
