About me and my therapy practice
Welcome – I’m Nic, an Integrative Counsellor (MÂ鶹Դ´)
I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgmental space for children aged 9+, adolescents and adults. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or navigating a life transition, I’m here to support you at your own pace.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches—including person-centred, psychodynamic, creative, and somatic methods—to tailor our work to your unique needs. This means we can explore your experiences through talking, creativity, symbolic or body-based awareness, depending on what feels right for you.
I work with a wide range of issues including:
Anxiety and low mood
Trauma and abuse
Grief and loss
Self-esteem and identity
Life transitions and relationship difficulties
My approach is rooted in curiosity, reflection and acceptance. I believe that healing happens not just through words, but through connection, understanding, and being truly seen. Together, we can gently explore the parts of you that feel challenged or hidden, and support you in reconnecting with your authentic self.
I am a registered member of the Â鶹Դ´ and work in accordance with its Ethical Framework, which means I am committed to providing a safe, ethical and professional service. I also receive regular supervision and engage in ongoing professional development to ensure the highest standards of care.
If you feel we might be a good fit, I’d love to hear from you.
Practice description
I am very much led by the individual as l believe that there is no 'one way' in counselling.
I understand that the relationship between the person and counsellor is key to support any change, reflection, pause and/or movement the individual would like to achieve. I am not the expert, but offer a professional and empathetic curiosity to work through any issue, difficulty or change you would like to.
I work at your pace, in both short and long term counselling both online and face to face or blended to suit your needs. Consistency and reliability is the key, these are some of my guiding principles. Honesty, integrity, acceptance and connectivity also underpin everything l do.
I want to create a space that encourages safety, connection and acceptance. I don't believe safety is a given and creating awareness of how you are feeling at any given time is important to help with day to day living.
The way l explore who you are and who you may like to be and any differences may include; talking, genograms, timelines, sand tray, collage, clay work, archetype cards, drama and role play, meditation, grounding techniques and much more. I seek to find ways that best serve the individual
I invite you to give me a call or email if you have any further questions or would like to know more.
My first session
After our initial contact, l will send you my contract for you to read and sign, if you agree, and an initial information form.
At this stage we are working to see if we suit one another as l am aware that l may not meet your requirements.
After l have received the contract and initial information back. We will arrange our first session which will be at a time that is mutually convenient and last 50 minutes. (this session requires my full fee)
During the first session l will complete an assessment with you. I will ask questions about your presenting issues, what you may like to get out of counselling, what does and doesn't work for you and other details. I aim to make it a therapeutic session for you to bring as much or as little as you like.
At the end as you are under no obligation to proceed, l will ask if you would like to book any further sessions or let me know when suits you.
