About me and my therapy practice
Trust and relationship are key to enabling you to fully explore your inner world. This authentic relationship is at the core of my practice. Together we will create a space, where trust can be built upon, to enable you to unfurl within. I will always bring my true self to you consistently, with gentle empathic understanding. I will listen carefully with curiosity to your experiences of your world. I encourage you to explore whatever it is you choose to bring whilst holding a confidential space which is judgement free and dedicated to your story and your needs.
You may not yet have the words to express how you truly feel inside. For some it can be learning to understand a neurodivergent way of processing. It may be a need to fully understand yourself and find new ways to express feelings. In some cases, it may be too painful to speak the words aloud.
I believe that creative resources can deeply aid the exploration of self, which can feel less intrusive than the use of language.
I am an Integrative counsellor and psychotherapist which means I work using different theoretical approaches. I also work somatically with trauma and as a qualified Breathwork Coach I can equip you with effective breathing techniques and strategies to aid your own personal emotional self-regulation outside of the therapy room. Breathwork can be very effective for those who are neurodivergent as well as those who have experienced trauma. I have lived experience of ADHD and ASD.
What my clients say:
"I found Rachael to be patient, kind and empathetic. She able to listen without judgement and is able to provide a safe space where you can empty all the pain you’ve been holding without the feeling of shame. Sometimes in life we are caught up in the heaviness but she helps you out of that dark place and gently guiding you back into the light."
Practice description
I have a diverse client base who come with a diverse range of matters. I have an interest in working with HSPs (High Sensitive Person) and with those who have experienced therapy before. I typically work with anxiety, complex grief, depression, narcissistic abuse, identity challenges and emerging neurodivergent challenges.
I work with clients on a long-term basis but do offer short term counselling. I mostly work face to face with clients but do offer online sessions if preferred. I follow and work within the Â鶹Դ´ Ethical framework.
I am continually learning new therapeutic skills to aid my private practice. I run a small practice and work with a small number of clients to ensure my practice is as effective as it can be for my clients.
My first session
Finding the right therapist for you is so important to the effectiveness of the therapeutic relationship and work, I would therefore recommend you speak to a number of therapists for an initial chat so you can make an informed decision on who to go with.
I offer a no obligation 15-minute initial call to discuss your therapeutic needs, answer any questions you may have about the process and establish if we feel we would be a good fit to work together.
All sessions are 50 minutes in length, however, the first session is an hour long as we work through my assessment form which simply helps me better understand some key pieces of information about yourself, your current environment and the reasons for seeking out therapy.
I aim to respond to all messages within 24 hours of receipt Monday to Friday so if you have e-mailed me and not received a response within 24 hours, please do check your other folders as it may have landed in your spam or junk e-mail.
Currently my ‘low cost’ client slots are taken.
