About me and my therapy practice
I am an Integrated Psychotherapist working from a person-centred, humanistic approach, offering compassionate and collaborative therapy tailored to your individual needs.
My integrative practice draws on Existential, Person Centred, Gestalt and Solution-Focused Therapy together with Transactional Analysis.
Alongside my core degree level training, I have completed a Level 4 qualification to become a Grief-Trained Practitioner. I have also undertaken CPD-certified training in Substance and Alcohol Abuse and Acceptance, Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Together with Humanistic Psychotherapy I am able to support clients experiencing bereavement and Prolonged Grief Disorder, substance misuse, and the emotional impact that often accompanies these challenges.
I provide psychotherapy face to face in Claycross, Chesterfield, Derbyshire as well as online counselling throughout the UK. I work with adults and students who may be living with anxiety, depression, PTSD, low self-worth, emotional disconnection, or the lasting effects of difficult early-life experiences.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I offer a calm, confidential and non-judgemental space where my clients can feel safe enough to explore what may feel overwhelming, confusing or painful. Together, at the clients pace, we can gently unpack experiences, rebuild self-trust, and help them to reconnect with a stronger sense of self.
Therapy with me is grounded in empathy, authenticity and unconditional positive regard. As an integrative psychotherapist, I aim to support meaningful, lasting change — helping you move towards greater emotional resilience, self-understanding and a more hopeful future.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation to help you decide whether I feel like the right fit for you.
I provide face-to-face counselling in Chesterfield and online psychotherapy across Derbyshire and the wider UK through my private practice, SPIRE Therapy (www.spiretherapy.net)
Practice description
At the heart of my practice is the belief that everyone deserves a safe, non-judgemental space to be heard.
I can offer this through either online therapy or welcome my clients to a calm, tranquil environment in Claycross, Chesterfield. In both situations you can feel supported to explore challenges at your own pace. With empathy, presence, and genuine care, I will help you to reconnect with your true self and move toward a more fulfilling life.
After studying at The University of Derby as a matute student, I can appreciate the modern day stresses that can be extremely challenging during the pressures of study. Therefore, I offer a concessionary rate to all students (evidence required) over the age of 18 who may feel the need to process their emotions through their educational journey. I offer this as an online service to students either in school, college or university.
My clients have often struggled to share and understand long-term emotional issues. Appreciating how this affects mental health, I provide compassion and congruence to invite exploration of emotions and challenges at their own pace. My clients are welcome to continue with therapy long term, or to choose a time scale in which they would like to reach a solution to their situation.
I also offer a concessionary rate to Adults over the age of 65. I appreciate that affordability can make it difficult to access therapy, especially in later life when we feel that we have "survived this far". I believe we all need to be heard, no matter how long we've stayed quiet. Therapy should be available to all and hopefully my consideration that cost is often a challenge can help in alleviating this worry and provide an affordable opportunity.
Through our journey together we can consider safe coping strategies, such as free writing, grounding, situational revisiting, breathing techniques, mindfulness and journaling. Together we can discover the best way forward to create inner peace and positivity toward a better future.
