Availability
Sessions are £60. I currently have availability during the working week. I am able to see clients during the day on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. I also have some flexibility on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Availability can sometimes shift from week to week, so please get in touch so we can decide on a time that works for you.
About me and my therapy practice
You may have arrived here because something doesn’t feel quite right. Perhaps you’re carrying anxiety, feeling emotionally exhausted, or noticing that relationships, work, or a recent change in your life are weighing more heavily than they used to. On the outside, you might seem to be coping - getting on with things, doing what’s expected - yet inside there’s a sense of being stuck, sad, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward.
If that resonates, you’re not alone.
I offer a calm, compassionate and collaborative space where you can slow things down and begin to make sense of your experiences. Therapy with me is not about having the right words or knowing exactly what you want to work on. We can begin wherever you are - gently, thoughtfully, and at a pace that feels safe for you.
Many of the people I work with want to understand themselves better: why they feel the way they do, why certain patterns keep repeating, or why life feels harder than it should. Together, we explore these questions with curiosity and care, helping you develop greater clarity, emotional steadiness and self-compassion.
You may be feeling constantly on edge, overthinking, struggling to relax, or noticing the impact on your sleep, work or relationships. You may feel self-critical, unsure of who you are, or unsettled by changes such as loss, career shifts or changes in relationships.
I offer a space to pause, reflect and begin to understand these experiences. Over time, this understanding can support you in developing healthier boundaries, more secure ways of relating, and a stronger sense of self.
While being deeply listened to is an important part of therapy, my role is not simply to sit back and nod. Where it feels helpful and appropriate, I will gently offer reflections, alternative perspectives and practical strategies, always collaboratively, and always with your consent. My aim is to help you feel both understood and supported in making meaningful, sustainable change.
Practice description
I work in person from a welcoming, confidential therapeutic space in Bournville, Birmingham, close to the train station with street parking available. I also offer online sessions via Teams or Google Meet.
Whether in person or online, I work with you to explore and navigate the challenges and complexities life can involve. I work integratively, so I can tailor our sessions to you and what you are experiencing. You can expect warmth, compassion, humour and understanding.
In addition to the detailed areas, I can also help with confusion around cultural identity, as well as exploring some of the complexities around balancing familial and community expectations with your own needs and living your life in a way that feels authentic to you.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in education for nearly two decades, supporting both staff and students. This experience gave me deep insight into the specific stressors and emotional demands of this environment, and I continue to work with teachers and those navigating career pressures.

My first session
Your first counselling session is an important step, and it’s natural to feel a little uncertain about what to expect. Think of it as a gentle beginning — a chance for us to get to know one another and start building a connection based on trust, warmth and understanding.
During this initial meeting, you’ll have space to talk about what’s brought you to counselling and what you’re hoping to gain from it. We’ll explore your hopes and expectations together, and if you’ve had counselling or therapy before, you’re welcome to share what worked well for you and what didn’t. This helps me understand how best to support you.
We’ll also talk through confidentiality, so you can feel reassured about the privacy and safety of what you share. I’ll ask a few questions about your background and upbringing, as well as your current life and work situations. Sometimes this might include aspects like health, sleep or general wellbeing — all the parts that make up who you are and how you experience life.
Throughout our conversation, you’ll find that humour, compassion and empathy are central to how I work. I believe that counselling doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time; moments of lightness and shared humanity can be just as healing.
Most importantly, this first session is an opportunity for you to ask questions, express any concerns, and see how it feels to talk with me. Counselling is a deeply personal process, and it matters that we relate well to each other. This meeting allows us both to get a sense of that.
By the end of our time together, you’ll hopefully have a clearer sense of what counselling with me might look like, and whether it feels like the right fit for you. My aim is for you to leave feeling heard, respected and gently understood - the start of a space where you can begin to explore, heal and grow at your own pace.
