About me and my therapy practice
My practice is in modern, comfortable consulting rooms in Crouch End (N8) and King’s Cross.
I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the Â鶹Դ´. I trained for four years at The Minster Centre in London, one of the UK’s leading integrative training institutions.
I am an integrative therapist, which means that I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to help you feel understood, supported and empowered as you work towards your goals.
Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process - we are all unique and should be treated as such. I believe therapy is most effective when it is grounded in trust, curiosity and compassion.
I have experience in helping with a range of issues such as stress and anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues and sexuality, domestic violence and the challenges of major life transitions. I have completed additional training in other areas - please see my website for more details.
Outside private practice I work in community based counselling services and national helplines.
Practice description
If you haven’t had therapy before, I understand that it can feel a bit intimidating. I’m happy to guide you through the first steps until you become more familiar with the process. If you have had some experience of therapy, we can discuss what was and wasn’t helpful as we think about what we might work on together, moving forward.
Therapy can help you to explore your difficult feelings and current challenges. My aim is to work at your pace, with empathy and without judgement.
I am a strong proponent of face-to-face therapy. I believe that being in a room with another person, rather than online, can be both supportive and informative beyond the verbal.
My first session
Our intial meeting will be a 50 minute consultation, at which stage there is no commitment or obligation. This is a two-way conversation, an opportunity for me to understand what has prompted you to consider therapy, but also for you to get a sense of me and ask any questions you may have about the way I work or about therapy in general.
Following that, if we agree to work together we will meet at the same time each week in one of my consulting rooms.
Once you have been in touch to say you’re considering therapy with me, I will send you a brief, confidential Client Information form to complete and return before our initial consultation. Should you decide not to go ahead with therapy, any personal information will be securely erased.
