Availability

I am currently accepting new clients. Sessions are offered by arrangement, primarily during weekday daytime hours. I work in outdoor and nature-based settings across Mid North Essex (including but not limited to Maldon, Chelmsford, Colchester, Braintree and surrounding areas). Where weather, daylight or practical considerations make outdoor sessions unsuitable, sessions may take place online to support continuity of work. Limited evening availability may occasionally be offered for online sessions.

I generally align my availability with school term times, with reduced availability during school holidays, although some flexibility may be available during the longer summer break. Please contact me to discuss current availability and suitability.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor offering nature-based and outdoor therapy for individuals across Mid North Essex, including children, young people and adults. My work is grounded in a relational, person-centred approach, supporting clients to explore their experiences at their own pace within a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space.

Working outdoors can support regulation, reflection and connection, particularly for those who find traditional indoor settings limiting. Sessions may include gentle walking, grounding practices, creative and sensory activities, or simply sitting quietly in nature, guided by the client’s needs and preferences. I place strong emphasis on emotional safety, informed consent and collaborative working, adapting each session thoughtfully to the individual.

I have a particular interest in neurodiversity-affirming practice, supporting clients who experience the world sensitively, creatively or differently, and I value working in ways that honour autonomy, curiosity and authentic self-expression. Where outdoor sessions are not suitable due to weather or practical considerations, sessions can take place online to support continuity of work.

Practice description

My practice, RedBee Counselling, offers nature-based and outdoor therapy for individuals seeking a reflective, grounded and creative way of working. Sessions take place in agreed outdoor locations across Mid North Essex, such as woodland and green spaces, with an emphasis on emotional safety, informed consent and working collaboratively.

Sessions are tailored to each individual and may involve gentle walking, sitting together in nature, grounding and sensory practices, creative activities, or quiet reflective conversation. This approach can be particularly supportive for neurodivergent clients or those who experience the world sensitively, creatively or differently, offering space for regulation, movement, sensory awareness and flexible ways of communicating. There is no expectation to talk continuously or to have clear answers — the work unfolds at a pace that feels supportive and respectful.

I aim to offer a calm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and life experiences with curiosity and care. Where outdoor sessions are not suitable due to weather, daylight or practical considerations, sessions can take place online to maintain continuity. An initial conversation allows us to explore whether this way of working feels right for you and to agree next steps together.

My first session

I offer a free 30-minute initial consultation, which takes place online. This provides an opportunity for us to meet, explore what has brought you to counselling, and consider whether my way of working feels like a good fit for you.

During this consultation, we will complete some gentle initial information gathering to support safe and ethical practice, particularly in relation to outdoor working, alongside discussing practical arrangements, boundaries and any questions you may have. This space also allows you to get a sense of how I work and whether you feel comfortable moving forward together.

There is no obligation to continue after the consultation. If we agree to proceed, ongoing sessions are charged at the standard session rate and arranged at a mutually suitable time and agreed outdoor or online location.
