About me and my therapy practice

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, whether through loss, trauma, or feeling stuck in repeating patterns. You may be carrying emotions that feel too heavy to manage alone, or finding it hard to move forward. I understand how isolating that can feel. My own experiences of uncertainty, trauma, and personal growth have shaped me as a therapist, allowing me to meet you with warmth, empathy, and authenticity.

I believe therapy is a collaboration: a safe place where you can say what’s on your mind, explore what’s holding you back, and begin to make changes that feel congruent with who you are. My style is warm, non-judgemental and responsive; I seek to attune to your pace, your needs, and your values.

I currently volunteer as a counsellor in the NHS Youth Counselling Service and have experience as a volunteer counsellor in a rape and sexual abuse charity, supporting clients who have experienced trauma. I also have experience working with people with learning disabilities and autism, and I work with both young people and adults, helping them navigate the challenges of emotional distress, life transitions, and unresolved experiences.

I work integratively, drawing on different approaches to tailor our sessions to you. Being able to use a variety of therapeutic tools allows me to work more creatively, sometimes helping you connect with emotions that are hidden or difficult to put into words. In exploring these emotions, you can begin to better understand your triggers and how unresolved trauma or past experiences may continue to affect your daily life.

Alongside counselling, I also offer a holistic dimension to therapy, which may include inner child healing, NLP, EFT, IEMT, hypnotherapy, regression and past life regression. These approaches are not for everyone, but for some people they provide a deeper way of connecting with the self and supporting emotional wellbeing.

Practice description

Counselling with me is a space where you can bring whatever feels important, whether that’s managing anxiety, coping with loss, working through trauma, improving relationships, or seeking a deeper sense of self. Some sessions may focus on present-day challenges, while others explore patterns or experiences from the past that continue to affect you.

I work with both young people and adults, including those with learning disabilities and autism, and commonly address:

  • anxiety, stress and low mood
  • grief, loss and life transitions
  • self-worth, identity and confidence
  • relationship and attachment difficulties
  • trauma, unresolved childhood experiences, and inner child healing
  • deeper exploration of meaning and purpose

Because my practice is both integrative and holistic, I can adapt the way we work depending on your needs. Sometimes this will mean focusing on talking therapy; at other times, more creative or experiential methods may be introduced to help you access insights beyond words.

My first session

Taking the first step into therapy can feel daunting, so I aim to make the process as easeful as possible.

I offer a short introductory call so you can ask questions and get a sense of how I work. If you’d like to go ahead, we’ll then arrange your first session.

In that first meeting, I’ll invite you to share what has brought you to counselling and what you’d like to get out of it. We’ll go at your pace, there’s no pressure to share more than feels comfortable. I’ll also explain how I work, talk through confidentiality and boundaries, and together we’ll begin to shape your therapeutic journey.

My hope is that you’ll leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer sense of how counselling might help you.
