About me and my therapy practice
I am a Â鶹Դ´ registered counsellor, providing short-term and long-term counselling in Lewes in East Sussex. I've worked with people facing challenges for a very long time, as a support worker and a social worker, and as a therapist.
I have a Masters Degree in Psychology from the University Surrey, a Diploma in Integrative Person-Centred Counselling, and over 25 years' experience in social care, mental heath and rehabilitation.
I have extensive experience of working with MacMillan and the NHS, helping clients who are affected by cancer.
I help my clients with a wide range of issues, including:
Alcohol Concerns
Bereavement and loss
Anxiety, depression and low self-esteem
Relationship problems
Fatigue, lack of motivation and loss of meaning
Life transitions and change
Mental Health problems
I have extensive experience of working with people who feel alienated and marginalised in our society. I welcome people of all sexualities and gender identities, and those who are questioning how they identify. I have worked at Brighton Housing Trust, Macmillan and the NHS.
I have a particular interest in mental health, how it affects us, and how we can improve the quality of our lives.
For me, it's really important that people are able to feel completely safe, secure, and to know that therapy is a unique place where there will be no judgement - just help, support, and understanding.
Practice description
I am a person-centered integrative therapist. I have worked in the NHS for some time, and now I have my own practice in East Sussex.
I offer sessions without a 'tie-in', so I offer one session at a time, and you can cancel whenever you want. I believe this gives people control and autonomy, and allows access to therapy without needing to commit to long and expensive sessions.
I offer online, telephone or in person sessions. I believe in making clients feel safe and able to talk freely and without judgement. I also believe therapy should be a collaboration, and that laughter and good honest human connection are as important as exploring harder issues and emotions.
You can contact me through the site for a free consultation. This would be 20 - 30 minutes, and is an an opportunity for you to say what's on your mind, offload a few things, and decide if you wanted to go ahead.
My first session
I offer a free 20 - 30 minute first session so you can get a feel for what therapy will be like and decide if you want to go ahead. There is no obligation to continue after this.
If your not sure, do please contact me about a free consultation, as there is no obligation to continue after this, and its a really good way of trying therapy out.
