About me and my therapy practice

Many of us spend years believing there is something wrong with us, when our struggles actually make sense in light of what we have lived through. Anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, relationship difficulties, or a persistent feeling of not being "good enough" rarely appear without a history. More often, they reflect the ways we have learned to adapt, survive and protect ourselves.

My approach to therapy begins with curiosity rather than judgement. Instead of asking, "What's wrong with you?", I am interested in understanding what has shaped your experience and how those experiences continue to influence the way you relate to yourself and others. I believe that as we begin to make sense of these patterns, change becomes possible—not because we are trying to become someone different, but because we begin to understand ourselves with greater clarity and compassion.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, OCD, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions and emotional distress.

Specialist area: counselling for Cult Recovery, Religious Trauma, Spiritual Abuse, and support when leaving Cults or High Demand Groups. I also have a particular interest in supporting people recovering from religious trauma, spiritual abuse and experiences within high-control groups. These experiences can profoundly affect identity, trust and belonging, and therapy can provide a space to explore them safely and thoughtfully.

Practice description

No two people experience life in exactly the same way, so I don't believe therapy should follow a fixed formula. My approach is integrative, which means I draw on different therapeutic perspectives according to your individual needs, while always placing the therapeutic relationship at the centre of our work.

I aim to offer a calm, thoughtful and collaborative space where you don't have to arrive with all the answers. Together we can become curious about your experiences, explore patterns that may have developed over time, and understand how they continue to influence your relationships, choices and sense of self. Rather than rushing towards solutions, I believe that taking the time to understand your inner world often creates the conditions for meaningful and lasting change.

Whether you're facing a current difficulty or trying to make sense of patterns that have followed you throughout your life, I will work alongside you with compassion, curiosity and respect for your individual pace. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can develop greater trust in yourself, make choices that feel more authentic, and build a life that reflects your own values rather than expectations placed upon you.

I offer therapy in both English and Italian.

My first session

Starting therapy can feel like a significant step, and it's completely understandable to feel uncertain, nervous or even unsure about where to begin.

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and to explore what has brought you to therapy. I'll ask some questions about your current situation, your background and what you hope to gain from counselling, but there is no expectation that you tell me everything at once. We will work at a pace that feels manageable for you.

The first session is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of me and how I work. Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process, and I welcome any questions you may have. By the end of the session, we can reflect together on whether working together feels like the right fit for your needs.
