About me and my therapy practice
Seeking a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts and feelings? Life can feel exhausting, confusing, or overwhelming, and sometimes talking with someone can help you gain perspective and develop practical ways to cope.
Sessions offer a collaborative and non-judgemental space to explore experiences at your own pace. Support is available for stress, anxiety, low mood, burnout, relationship challenges, recurring patterns, low self-confidence, past trauma, and neurodiversity-related experiences, including sensory overwhelm or fatigue.
Therapy is grounded in Person-Centred principles, with flexibility to draw on approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This integrative approach allows sessions to be tailored to individual needs, helping you gain understanding, build resilience, and feel more grounded in navigating life’s challenges.
A compassionate and reflective approach ensures that each session focuses on what matters most to you, creating a space where you feel understood and supported.
Practice description
Counselling is offered in Sheffield at Sheffield Wellness Centre and online across the UK. Sessions provide a confidential and reflective space where adults can explore what feels difficult or draining, uncover repeating patterns, or process the impact of past or ongoing experiences.
Therapy is suitable for anyone feeling stuck, unsure how to move forward, or seeking greater clarity, confidence, or self-understanding. All work is delivered in line with the Â鶹Դ´ Ethical Framework, ensuring a safe, professional, and supportive environment for personal growth.
My first session
The first counselling session is an opportunity to begin getting to know one another and to explore what has brought you to therapy. We will usually talk about your current concerns, relevant background, and what you hope to gain from counselling.
I will also explain how I work, discuss practical matters such as confidentiality and boundaries, and answer any questions you may have. This session helps us consider whether working together feels appropriate and whether counselling with me is likely to meet your needs.
The first session is the same length and fee as ongoing sessions. I do not require clients to complete formal assessments before starting, although I may ask some gentle questions to help understand your situation.
I also offer a separate, free 20–30 minute consultation by phone or video prior to starting counselling, which is optional and allows clients to ask questions and decide whether they would like to proceed.
