Availability
I currently have availability for new clients and welcome enquiries from children, young people, parents, and families. Sessions are offered on a flexible basis to accommodate school and work commitments, with both daytime and some limited evening appointments available.
Appointments can be arranged in person or online, depending on your preference and needs. I aim to offer sessions at regular, consistent times each week, though I can be flexible where circumstances require.
I do not usually work at weekends or bank holidays. Any planned breaks (such as annual leave or training commitments) will always be communicated well in advance so that we can prepare together for any pauses in therapy.
About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative psychotherapist with a deep passion for supporting children, young people, adults, couples, and families. Alongside my private practice, I have worked for many years across fostering, residential care and education, giving me a rich understanding of the different systems people are part of, and the unique challenges they face.
I draw on a range of approaches including systemic, psychodynamic, attachment and trauma-informed models. I also enjoy using creativity, metaphor and play in therapy, as these often open up safe and meaningful ways for children and young people to express themselves when words feel difficult. With adults and couples, I offer a reflective and supportive space to explore relationships, life transitions, or patterns that may feel stuck, always working at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
Becoming a therapist felt like a natural step for me. I have always been drawn to the resilience of people, even when life has been complex or painful. I believe that with the right support, new ways of coping, relating, and moving forward can emerge. In my work, I aim to provide a calm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you feel truly seen and understood.
Therapy with me is collaborative and tailored to your needs. Sometimes that looks like individual sessions with a child, young person or adult, sometimes it involves working with parents or carers, and sometimes whole families or couples come together. My focus is always on helping you to feel heard, supported and equipped with tools that can make a difference both now and in the future.
Above all, I bring warmth, curiosity and respect for the strength that people already hold. My hope is that therapy becomes a space of growth and healing, where hope can begin to take root and where lasting change feels possible.
Practice description
My practice is a warm, supportive space where children, young people, adults, couples, and families can explore their experiences safely and at their own pace. From the very first session, my priority is to help you feel comfortable, understood, and reassured that you are not alone in whatever you are facing.
The first step usually involves an initial consultation, where we talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain. This is also an opportunity for you to get a feel for how I work and to ask any questions. From there, we will agree together on the best way forward — whether that is short-term, focused work around a particular issue, or longer-term therapy that allows for deeper exploration and change.
Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your needs. For children and young people, this may involve creative approaches such as play, drawing, or storytelling alongside talking, to help them feel safe and able to express themselves. For adults and couples, sessions may focus more on reflection, communication, and developing new perspectives on patterns, relationships, and coping strategies. Families may come together to strengthen relationships, repair ruptures, and create new ways of supporting one another.
I work integratively, drawing on systemic, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed approaches. This means that I am flexible in adapting therapy to suit you, rather than following a rigid method. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a partnership, and I will always be led by your pace and comfort.
You can expect sessions to be respectful, non-judgemental, and grounded in compassion. My role is to listen, to help you make sense of your experiences, and to support you in finding new ways forward. My hope is that therapy gives you not only insight and understanding, but also practical strategies and a stronger sense of confidence in yourself and your relationships.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and to explore what has brought you to therapy. I see this as a two-way process: it gives me a chance to understand more about your experiences, and it also gives you the space to decide whether you feel comfortable working with me.
I will ask some gentle questions about your background, current situation, and what you hope to gain from therapy. This is not a test or a formal interview, but a way of beginning to build a picture together. For children and young people, the first session may involve creative activities or play to help them feel at ease.
Where helpful, I may use an assessment tool to guide our understanding of your needs, but this will always be explained and agreed with you in advance. Together, we will think about what feels like the best focus for therapy — whether short-term support or longer-term work.
I offer my first session at the standard session rate. If you are unsure whether therapy is right for you, I am happy to arrange a brief initial phone call free of charge to discuss your needs and answer any questions before booking a first session.
My aim is for you to leave the first session with a clearer sense of what therapy with me might look like, and with reassurance that you will be supported in a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental way.
