About me and my therapy practice

Welcome! I'm Violet 鈥 a qualified and experienced M麻豆原创-registered Counsellor and IFC-accredited Coach.

I work with people who feel like they鈥檝e lost their spark鈥攖hose who are coping on the outside but are struggling internally with low mood, self-doubt, or a growing sense of disconnection from themselves and their lives.

There may not have been a dramatic turning point. Often, it鈥檚 a gradual shift: a quiet sense that something鈥檚 not right.

Your inner critic has grown louder, motivation has dipped and the things that once brought you joy now feel flat or meaningless.

You鈥檝e lost touch with your joy, maybe even a sense of who you are. You might look back and barely recognise the person you used to be.

Lately, things have felt even harder.

You鈥檝e thought about contacting a therapist countless times.. When you finally start looking, the choice feels overwhelming鈥攏ot to mention the vulnerability of sharing your story with a stranger.

And yet, here you are, reading these words. That takes courage.

I want you to know this: I don鈥檛 see you as broken. You don鈥檛 need to be 鈥渇ixed.鈥 I believe we are all creative, resourceful, and whole鈥攅ven when we鈥檙e struggling.

Sometimes, the parts of us that developed to help us cope in the past are now holding us back.

In therapy, we gently explore these coping patterns with curiosity and compassion, not judgement.

My approach blends psychodynamic therapy with coaching.

This means we鈥檒l explore how your past experiences and unconscious patterns may be shaping how you feel and relate today鈥攚hile also focusing on reconnecting with your values, strengths, and goals.

At the heart of my work is the belief in a deeper Self鈥攖he calm, wise part of you that knows what you need and longs to live more fully. When life becomes overwhelming, it鈥檚 easy to lose touch with that inner clarity.

Depression

You may feel low, flat, or numb鈥攕truggling to find motivation or meaning in things you once enjoyed.  Together, we鈥檒l explore what鈥檚 going on beneath the surface, reconnect with your inner resources, and find a way forward that feels meaningful and sustainable.

Anxiety

Anxiety can take many forms鈥攃onstant worry, overthinking, panic, or a lingering sense that something is 鈥渘ot quite right.鈥 It often feels like you're always on edge, waiting for something to go wrong. I offer a calm, grounding space where we can explore the roots of your anxiety and develop ways to manage it with more clarity and self-compassion.

Self-esteem & the inner critic

Many clients I work with struggle with a harsh inner critic鈥攆eeling never good enough, comparing themselves to others, or struggling to acknowledge their own worth. We鈥檒l work to understand where these beliefs come from and help you build a more compassionate and confident relationship with yourself.

Work-related stress & burnout

Whether it鈥檚 pressure, perfectionism, conflict, or feeling stuck in a role that no longer fits, work can be a major source of stress. I support clients in understanding their patterns, setting boundaries, and rediscovering balance鈥攕o work becomes something you do, not something that defines or depletes you.

Relationship Issues

You might be feeling disconnected from your partner, stuck in recurring patterns, or struggling with intimacy, boundaries, or communication. I help clients reflect on their relationship dynamics鈥攑ast and present鈥攁nd support them in building healthier, more enjoyable connections.

Big life changes鈥攚hether chosen or unexpected鈥攃an leave us feeling ungrounded. Whether you're navigating a career shift, becoming a parent, approaching midlife, or dealing with loss or identity changes, therapy can help you process the transition and reconnect with who you are becoming.

If my approach resonates you are very welcome to book a free 20 minute zoom session. This will give you a chance to meet me and ask any questions you might have about the counselling process of my background and experience. It will also give me an opportunity to check that I'm the right therapist for you.

I will always try and arrange this first call within the first few days of hearing from you.

Is this moment you start to glow from within again? 

Welcome. I'm Violet, a qualified and experienced M麻豆原创 registered Counsellor and IFC accredited Coach. I help people reignite their spark and feel hopeful about the future again. 

I'm guessing you haven't always felt this. Your mood shifted gradually, over months, perhaps even years. There was no traumatic event or loss. Just the gradual feeling of life becoming more of a relentless slog. 

Your inner critic (who has probably been lurking in the background for as long as you can remember) has taken center stage. Nothing you do feels enough. Perhaps you feel that you are not enough. 

Your habitual motivation and zest for life is gradually ebbing away. 

You put it down to stress at work or at home. You thought you鈥檇 feel better after a holiday, once the weather warmed up, once you'd delivered that project.

And things did get better for a while but then you found yourself back in the same place. Feeling flat, empty, yet overwhelmed by the demands of life. 

You put on a brave face. Only a handful of people have an idea of how you鈥檙e feeling. 

You feel ashamed because there is so much suffering in the world right now, you feel like your problems are insignificant in comparison.

But recently you鈥檝e reached a new low.

You鈥檝e thought about contacting a therapist countless times. But it falls to the bottom of your to do list, and when you do start looking the choice is overwhelming. 

Not to mention the fear of sharing your life story with a complete stranger...

And yet somehow you鈥檝e found yourself here, reading this profile. I salute your courage in feeling the fear and doing it anyway.

Because that鈥檚 who I see. A brave and resourceful person who is having a tough time. You are not broken and you don鈥檛 need to be fixed.

Practice description

I鈥檒l be an active participant in your therapy, walking alongside you every step of the way. You won't find me sitting opposite you in silence. 

Our sessions will range from lively experiences fuelled by dynamic exercises and visualisations to deeply moving experiences as we face previously unbearable feelings, together.

I'll be that someone who you can share what鈥檚 on your mind with, without fear of being judged.

Someone who can hear what feels impossible to say, and sit in the trenches with you as feelings of quiet despair are allowed to bubble to the surface.

Someone who can help you make sense of what belongs in the past and what you want to take forward into the present.

Someone who can help you remember what you鈥檙e capable of.

Someone to help you glow from within again.
