Availability

I work with individuals aged 18 and over, in person and online.

I currently have availability on weekday daytimes (Monday to Friday), Monday and Tuesday evenings, and Saturday mornings.

I appreciate how busy life can be, so I aim to offer flexibility, working in person, online or over the phone, to suit your circumstances and preferences.

Whilst many clients find that the consistency of a regular, weekly appointment works well for them, I can also offer a more flexible approach to suit clients whose schedules are less predictable. Please get in touch and I'd be happy to discuss this further.

I work both short-term and long-term, with a variety of issues and concerns. It can take courage to seek support. I welcome an informal chat to help put you at ease, share a bit more about my approach and what to expect, and work out whether we might be a good fit.

About me and my therapy practice

How I work

I work with people from all backgrounds, offering respect for your unique experience and a warm, gentle, confidential space to explore whatever feels important to you. You may be feeling overwhelmed, lost, stuck, desperate or just not your usual self. I will listen attentively, with empathy, kindness and patience. We will go at your pace and I will be alongside you as you explore anything that comes up for you. People sometimes find that through having this time and space, they start to understand more about who they are and what they need in order to heal and flourish, forming deeper connections with themselves, others and the wider world.

Experience

I am experienced in supporting people through a range of life experiences, including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, family issues, loss, bereavement, identity, neurodivergence, health concerns, infertility, pregnancy loss, loneliness, low self-esteem and trauma.

Background

My background spans the NHS, the education sector and the charity sector. In addition to my own counselling practice I work part-time for a low-cost counselling service and I facilitate a monthly support group for the Miscarriage Association.

Qualifications

I trained at the well-regarded Metanoia Institute. My qualifications include:

BSc (Hons) Advanced Person Centred Counselling (First Class Honours)

Diploma in Person Centred Pluralistic Counselling

Â鶹ԭ´´-accredited Professional Certificate in Facilitating Online and Phone Therapy

Practice description

My belief is that when we are met with genuine acceptance, open-heartedness and empathy, we can begin a self-healing process that deepens our connection with ourselves and others and helps us to cherish who we are, who we have been and who we might be.

Many clients find that having the time and space to talk to someone who will truly listen, without judgement or agenda, helps them to identify things that are feeling difficult and start to consider what they might need in order to move forward.

Whilst talking works for some clients, others might find it more comfortable to use symbolic objects, photographs, imagery, poetry, expressive writing or sand tray. I am trained in the use of different methods and my hope is that this can be a space that is tailored to your way of being, your needs and preferences.

My first session

I offer a free, 20-minute introductory call at a time that suits you, so that you can get a feel for me and how I work and briefly talk through what you hope to get from counselling.

If you decide to move forward with me, I offer the first session at half my usual fee. This gives you the opportunity to see what working with me might be like, before committing longer term.

In the first session, we will go through some information about how the sessions work and we’ll look through the counselling contract together, which covers practicalities, ethical considerations and some other details. We will then start to explore what has brought you to therapy and how you would like to use the time, taking into account any needs, preferences and adjustments that would help you feel comfortable and supported.
