About me and my therapy practice
My approach is humanistic & integrative, which means I bring together different ways of working to suit your individual needs, on what you need support with.
Together, we’ll explore not only the difficulties you may be facing, but also your strengths, values and hopes for the future, so that you feel supported as you grow and make changes in your own way and at your own pace.
I have lived experience as a neurodivergent individual. My practice is an inclusive space for neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD and autism, and neurotypical clients.
I am an open, intuitive, and creative person. One of my greatest passions is understanding the human experience.
For the last two years, I have worked at a city-centre charity, supporting women and self-identifying females to explore their emotions and experiences. This role has been meaningful and has shaped the way I work as a therapist.
I hold a degree in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling, which I achieved with a first-class classification, despite the challenges of studying as a neurodivergent adult.
My values are honesty, integrity, and humility. I welcome every client without judgment and with genuine care.
Practice description
I believe that therapy should feel like a safe and supportive place where you can be fully yourself, which is why I created Bloom Counselling & Psychotherapy, the private practice of Jade Sharif.
You might be thinking about having therapy because life has become complicated or overwhelming, or perhaps you want to change how you feel or how your relationships are working.
Sometimes we cannot put our finger on what is causing us to feel this way, sometimes we need support with the loss or change that has appeared in front of us, and sometimes we need help with what seems just out of reach.
Whether you are familiar with therapy or not, I aim to help you feel understood, supported, and empowered in your journey towards growth and well-being.
I offer mid to long-term therapy, in person from my practice in Nottingham and online throughout the UK.
My therapy room is on the second floor, in a small local shopping district in West Bridgford, Nottingham, and is easy to reach from Nottingham, Derby, and Leicestershire. I am not currently able to provide a wheelchair accessible space, with the room being on the second floor and no lift in the building.
The room is private, calm, and quiet. With natural and soft lighting, comfortable seating, and small creative touches.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute consultation in person and online, to answer any questions you might have about therapy itself and working with me.
Sessions from then on are charged at the full £50 and in the first session. In the first session, we will explore what has prompted you to seek therapy and some of your background. We will also explore confidentiality and the therapeutic contract or agreement between us.
Engaging in therapy and beginning can feel tough, so it is important that I know how you might be supported in therapy and outside of therapy. This might be from your important people, environment and activities you enjoy. This also might be an area you want to explore and develop, and that is okay!
To help you get what you need out of a first session, it might be useful to spend some time thinking about:
• What has brought you to therapy and why now?
• What do you hope to get from therapy, and what can you contribute to that?
• What experiences have you had from any previous therapy, and what might you need from me as a therapist?
