About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Martyna - an integrative counsellor based in London.

Grounded in Gestalt therapy, and guided by relational and embodied principles, I see counselling as a collaborative process – where change, connection, and meaning can emerge through presence and dialogue.

Gestalt therapy places the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the process and is rooted in the belief that healing happens through meaningful contact.

I offer trauma-informed therapy for adults navigating life transitions, emotional challenges, and exploring questions of identity and meaning.

As a counsellor, I facilitate a welcoming space that supports awareness of moment-by-moment experience, recognising how unresolved issues show up in the here and now.

Practice description

I meet you as a whole person and tailor the work to your needs. Depending on what feels suitable, sessions might include creative experiments, mindfulness or working with dreams. Whatever you bring, we’ll explore it together at your pace.

My background in the arts, documentary filmmaking, and community projects informs my deep interest in people’s stories, creativity, and diversity. I work with clients from all walks of life and hold a strong commitment to inclusive, anti-racist, and affirming practice.

Alongside indoor sessions, I offer walking therapy across parks in East London. Many people find that being outside fosters a more equal, embodied, and spontaneous way of relating, with nature becoming part of the process. It provides the opportunity to process thoughts and feelings while benefiting from movement and being outdoors.

I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹ԭ´´), and I hold full professional liability insurance and an enhanced DBS check. I engage in ongoing supervision and professional development to ensure a high standard of my work.

My first session

If you are considering working with me, you can email or text me to arrange a free 20-minute call to ask questions and discuss what has brought you to therapy. We can then schedule an initial session.

In the first session, I invite you to share whatever feels comfortable and what you hope to gain from therapy. I will explain how we can work together. This session is also a chance to see if working with me feels right for you.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to discuss anything further or arrange your first session.
