Availability

I currently have space for new clients and offer both in-person sessions at my practice in the Vale of Glamorgan and online sessions for clients across the UK and further afield.

I usually see clients Monday to Friday, with a choice of daytime and some evening appointments to help fit around work and family life. Each session lasts 50 minutes, and we’ll usually meet at the same time each week. If you need something more flexible, we can discuss what works best for you.

If you get in touch, I’ll always aim to respond to your enquiry within 24 hours. I know that reaching out can feel like a big step, so I want you to feel acknowledged and supported from the very beginning.

I take planned breaks during the year for holidays and training, and I’ll always let you know well in advance so we can plan around them together. In the unlikely event that I need to cancel at short notice, I’ll keep you informed and we’ll find another time.

My aim is to offer a consistent, reliable space where you can feel supported, understood, and able to explore at your own pace.

About me and my therapy practice

I work from a person-centred foundation. This means I won’t try to fix, analyse, or tell you what to do. Instead, I’ll listen closely, respond with empathy, and offer a relationship where you can be fully yourself – without judgement or pressure. At the heart of my work is the belief that every person carries the capacity for growth, healing, and change when given the right conditions of acceptance, understanding, and genuine human connection.

Alongside my person-centred foundation, I also draw on existential, gestalt, humanistic, and integrative perspectives where these feel helpful. These approaches can support us in exploring deeper questions about identity, meaning, and purpose, as well as in noticing patterns that may be repeating in your life or relationships. Sometimes this might mean gently challenging assumptions; sometimes it may be about making space for grief, fear, or uncertainty; at other times, it may be about discovering new possibilities and ways of being.

Therapy with me is collaborative and down-to-earth. I don’t believe in hiding behind jargon, distant silence, or formality. Instead, I aim to be alongside you as another human being – attentive, curious, and open to whatever you bring. Clients often describe this way of working as both grounding and freeing, offering a rare space to be heard and understood.

I trained at the University of South Wales and am a registered member of the Â鶹ԭ´´ (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). My work is guided by its ethical framework and by a deep respect for the courage it takes to step into therapy.

Practice description

I offer counselling both in person and online. My practice is based in the Vale of Glamorgan, in a quiet and welcoming space with easy access by public transport. For those further afield, I also provide secure video sessions, making therapy accessible from anywhere in the UK or abroad.

Sessions last for 50 minutes and are usually held weekly, though there is flexibility depending on your needs. I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy, giving us the space to work at a pace that feels right for you.

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and times of uncertainty or feeling stuck. While my practice is open to all, I have a particular focus on men’s issues. Many men find it difficult to talk about their inner world, and therapy can offer a safe, supportive place to explore emotions, relationships, identity, and challenges around masculinity without fear of judgement.

Whether we meet face-to-face or online, my aim is to provide a calm, respectful, and confidential environment where you can pause, reflect, and begin to make sense of what is happening in your life. The first step is simply an initial conversation, where we can discuss what has brought you here and what you hope to gain from therapy. From there, you can decide if working together feels right for you.

My first session

Beginning therapy can feel daunting, so I aim to make our first session as relaxed and straightforward as possible. This initial meeting is about getting to know each other and giving you a sense of what it might be like to work together.

I don’t require you to complete lengthy assessments or forms before we meet. Instead, our first session is a conversation. I will invite you to share, at your own pace, what has brought you to therapy and what you are hoping for. There is no pressure to tell your whole story straight away – you decide what feels right to share. My role is to listen carefully, to begin to understand your world, and to offer you the experience of being heard without judgement.

This first session also gives you the opportunity to ask me any questions about counselling, my approach, or the practical side of working together. We can discuss what you’d like to focus on, whether you’re looking for short-term or longer-term support, and what feels most important to you right now.

Sessions last for 50 minutes and take place either in person at my practice in the Vale of Glamorgan or online via a secure video platform. I offer the first session at the same rate as ongoing sessions. At the end, there is no obligation to continue – the decision about whether to proceed is entirely yours.

My hope is that you leave the first session with a clearer sense of whether this feels like the right space, and the right relationship, for you. Therapy is most effective when it feels safe, collaborative, and genuine – and the first step is simply seeing if working together feels like a good fit.
