About me and my therapy practice
I became a therapist because I want to be the change I want to see in the world, I am a highly intuitive, empathetic individual and I believe when people are given a safe, non-judgemental space and are treated with kindness and understanding, when someone sits in the ‘mess’ with you, that’s when we find real beauty and connection, and for me that’s a real privilege and that’s why I love what I do.
I have experience working with both adults and children with a range of presenting difficulties such as relationships, addictions, work, stress, depression, anxiety, adhd, autism, ocd, eating disorders, grief and LBGTQIA+ issues and more.
I offer in person in North Harbour, Eastbourne, over video call, phone, walk and talk or home visit and can offer extended sessions. I offer a free phone consultation to ensure I am the right fit for you, sessions start at £45 an hour.
Practice description
I am a person-centered integrative counsellor and member of the Â鶹Դ´ working in accordance to the Â鶹Դ´ ethical framework. I approach clients with an open mind, I don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all approach’ as I understand every person is unique and I will work with you in a way that is tailored to your needs to celebrate and encourage your individuality. Working in a person-centered approach to me means prioritising our therapeutic relationship above all as research shows this is the most effective approach with strong outcomes, it means understanding you to the best of my ability to promote self awareness and the safety to understand all parts of yourself through compassion and care. I understand healing is difficult, messy and that’s why it’s a privilege for me to sit in it with you so that it’s not done alone. A quote by Carl Jung that I work to is ‘know all the theories, master all the techniques but as you touch a human soul be just another human soul’
My first session
After reaching out to me, I will email a consultation form which will outline what you are looking for in coming to therapy, any adjustments, availability and policies. After receiving this, we will arrange a free phone call conversation, where we will arrange a first session, get to know each other better to ensure it is a good fit for you, and you may ask me any questions you may have before we get started!
The first session can be a chance to discuss what you want therapy to look like, discuss why you are coming to therapy, what you would like from coming to therapy, how I can support you and a chance to get to know each other and begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. We will go at your pace and you take the lead in sessions- it’s your space.
