Saturday 11 AM – 1:00 PM

About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Steven. It takes real strength to look for support, and my aim is to make the process of starting therapy feel as grounded and non-intimidating as possible.
My Approach: Collaborative and Client-Focused
As an Integrative therapist, I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, I carefully select methods from different approaches (including Person-Centred theory for empathy, Psychodynamic thinking for insight, and practical CBT tools) to create a therapeutic relationship that is tailored specifically to you.
The key to my work is collaboration. I offer a strictly confidential, non-judgemental, and safe space where you are in control of the pace and direction. Together, we will explore the challenges that brought you here—whether it’s stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, or relationship difficulties. We will work to:

Session Practicalities
I offer both short-term (solution-focused) counselling for immediate concerns and open-ended therapy for deeper personal growth. Sessions are 50 minutes long and I welcome clients for appointments online (via a secure link).
The first session is simply a chance for us to meet, for me to explain the process clearly, and for you to decide, with no obligation, if I am the right therapist for you.

I’ve designed my virtual practice to be a dedicated, low-pressure space for your reflection and growth. When we meet online via secure video link, I ensure that my professional setup provides the same level of focus, privacy, and ease as a traditional office. You can log in from your chosen location—a quiet room at home, your private office, or wherever you feel most secure—and dedicate that time entirely to yourself.

Working together means you get reliable, consistent support. Sessions are typically held weekly, usually at the same time, and run for 50 minutes. This regular structure creates the consistency needed for deep, meaningful insight, without the stress of travel or commuting.

This isn't a formal session; it's simply a relaxed, non-committal conversation where you can ask any questions, explain briefly what's going on, and most importantly, get a sense of my style and whether I feel like the right fit for you.
My practice is here to support you in moving from feeling stuck to finding genuine clarity and confidence, all from the comfort of your own space.
My first session

Initial Consultation & Seamless Start
I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute phone or video consultation. This is our chance to introduce ourselves, for you to ask questions, and for us to check that I’m the right therapist for your needs.
Crucially, I schedule our initial appointment with extra time built in, giving you a unique option:
Option 1: Continue Directly (Seamless Start)
If you feel "in the zone" after our 15-minute consultation and wish to keep going, we can continue immediately into a full 50-minute session. This allows you to capitalize on your readiness and ensures you don't lose the therapeutic momentum.
Option 2: Reflect and Decide
You are always welcome to end the 15-minute call, take time to reflect, and contact me later to book your first full session. There is absolutely no pressure to continue right away.
Session Rate
Whether you choose to continue immediately or book later, the rate for your first full 50-minute session is simply my standard rate of £50. I will only charge you this amount if you choose to proceed beyond the free 15-minute consultation.
What to Expect in the Full Session
If you choose to continue, this 50-minute session serves as a relaxed but thorough assessment. We will use this time to:
Understand the Full Picture: I will ask gently guiding questions about what brought you to therapy and what your main goals are.
Clarify the Process: We will clearly discuss how I work, confidentiality, and professional boundaries, ensuring you feel safe and informed.
Establish a Plan: We will agree on what you want to achieve and outline the best path forward for our work together.
The entire process is driven by your comfort and choice.
