About me and my therapy practice
How I can help:
We can all have times when life is difficult, confusing, painful. We may feel stuck, or rushed, or lost - overwhelmed by current challenges or past difficulties. Counselling can provide a point of pause - an opportunity to reflect, and to connect with what it means to be you.
As a humanistic psychotherapeutic counsellor, I feel strongly that everyone has worth - valuing you as an individual, and your lived experiences as unique. I can help you if you are facing family issues or relationship problems. I can also support you if you are struggling with anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem. Perhaps you have suffered a bereavement, or are weighed down by a sense of loss, or loneliness. Maybe you are not sure how you feel, and are unclear about what you need right now.
Our counselling sessions can help to make better sense of your experiencing - encouraging personal growth as you move towards a deeper understanding and appreciation of yourself.
Working together:
I offer a collaborative approach to therapy: a space for curiosity and creativity as we work together to support the meaningful change you seek.
Coming from a background in accessible education, advocacy, and communications, I draw on my breadth and depth of professional and personal experience within diverse communities - and feel passionately that the therapeutic space allows for all voices, all stories to be heard. I see it as my position not to advise or to find ‘quick fixes’; rather, I aim to encourage an affirming, inclusive, non-judgemental space, and warmly invite you to bring whatever thoughts, feelings, and emotions might arise in the moment - hopeful that every part of you can feel welcome and accepted.
Building on a shared sense of trust and safety, we can work together, and at your pace, to carefully explore the ways you relate to yourself, to others and to the wider world - as you consider what is still useful, and what no longer serves you.
Practice description
Our sessions:
I offer face-to-face counselling in professional practice rooms in Brighton and Hove.
Each weekly session is for 50 minutes, and costs £60.
Our sessions can be for an open-ended period, or focused within a fixed time frame - whichever way you find works well for you.
A positive way forward:
Counselling can be challenging - and also empowering. Whilst there are aspects of our lives that we cannot change, I believe that with fresh insight and greater self-awareness there is the possibility of moving forwards with a renewed sense of agency, freedom and fulfilment.
Throughout this process of discovery, my commitment is to be alongside you with kindness and heartfelt compassion.
Training, qualifications, and experience:
Humanistic Counselling and Psychotherapy Postgraduate Diploma (Master's Level 7, with Distinction), University of Brighton.
British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, Registered Member MÂ鶹Դ´ (no. 415016), practising in accordance with the Â鶹Դ´ Ethical Framework - putting clients first.
With significant experience supporting individuals with autism and ADHD within a range of settings, I offer a neurodivergent-affirming approach to therapy.
Alongside my private practice, I volunteer as a psychotherapeutic counsellor within the NHS, supporting staff.
I receive regular supervision, and am committed to continuing my professional development to inform and enrich best practice.
Additional professional qualification:
Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), University of Sussex.
