About me and my therapy practice

Hello I'm Kelly.

The women I work with are experiencing feelings of overwhelm, a lack of self worth and confidence. They feel like they are on autopilot in their own lives with a pressure to hold things together as they have always done. They experience feelings of guilt and shame and are not able to explain the sudden shift in their moods.

They feel alone, isolated, unsupported and unheard with an overwhelming feeling of they "should" be able to cope.

Working with me has enabled these women to feel heard in the safety of a warm, supported environment, whether that has been in person in my therapy room in Banbury or online or via the telephone, a choice that they made.

They have been able to say exactly what they are feeling with no fear of judgement, ridicule or belittlement. I offer a space where every thought, feeling or emotion has been spoken about and explored with compassion, warmth and understanding.

The women I work with leave the space feeling understood and heard.

I work with women who are experiencing perimenopause & menopause, life changes, grief & bereavement and loss.

You, like them, may be experiencing immediate, uncontrollable shifts in your moods with no warning. A loss of confidence and your ability to hold a space how you used to, both at work and in your personal life. Your enthusiasm for things has lessened and everyday tasks can seem daunting.  You may be questioning who you are and what is your purpose.  With a loss of identity leaving you with questions of "who am I" and "what do I do now".

You maybe feeling a variety of emotions and feelings following someone dying. Relief, guilt, sadness, anger and denial are just some of them. Sometimes your relationship with the person that has died was complicated which can lead to older feelings and emotions resurfacing.

I provide a space where all the above and more can explored, spoken about in a calm, reflective, supportive and safe way.

Practice description

How it feels to work with me

I want you to feel safe and comfortable so that you can trust me to open up. I provide a space for you to explore all your feelings, thoughts and emotions. Where raw emotions are met with respect and compassion and you feel held.

My person centred foundation, from my integrative training means I offer a grounded, supportive, reflective environment, putting you at the heart of the work.

As well as drawing on other modalities I look at the connection between how you feel in your body as well as your mind. I am a qualified Breathwork Coach and can bring in breathwork exercises to the space as well. I will discuss introducing somatic work or breathwork with you as this is not for everyone, it will always be your choice and decision.

We will always work in a way that is right for you. I will work alongside you whilst you navigate your experiences. Providing you with a space to be you, to feel heard, listened to, seen and supported.

Understanding that everyone has different needs I offer support in person from a private room in Banbury (please note the room is on the first floor and is accessed via stairs) as well as online and telephone support (UK wide). This allows you to decide what is right for you.  Whether in person or online I provide a warm, calm and reflective space.

Sessions are 50 minutes in length. I work with clients both on a short and long term basis. Sessions are generally weekly or fortnightly but again, we can explore what your needs are.

What next?

If you have read the above and felt "this is how I am feeling" then please feel free to contact me to ask any further questions that you have. I offer a free initial phone call/zoom where we can talk about what you are looking for and how I work. There is no obligation to book your first session on the call or work with me.

If you do decide to work with me then before our first session I will send you our working agreement and client contact form for you to complete at your own convenience.

I appreciate and understand that choosing the right counsellor for you can seem like a daunting task so ensuring that you have the time to make the right decision for you is important to me.

If you feel that I might be the person that can provide you with the space you need then I look forward to hearing from you. If not then thank you for reading and I wish you good luck with finding the right counsellor.
