About me and my therapy practice
About me:-
I’m Susannah, a registered Counsellor who has a passion for wildlife, horticulture and the nature environment. I delight in witnessing my clients working through their challenges during counselling sessions, enabling self-awareness, empowerment and personal growth. I offer a safe and confidential space, warmth, respect and understanding and the opportunity for you to go at your own pace.
Where I work
I offer in person and on-line counselling sessions within the town of Abergavenny and provide walk and talk counselling in the local area which is in close proximity to the Brecon Beacons National Park. My walking in nature sessions combine professional counselling with the calming rhythm of the outdoors.
Practice description
Style of working/aims
I work from a humanistic approach encouraging self-exploration, discovery of your potential for growth and overcoming challenges. As an Integrative Therapist I use CBT and relational psychodynamic theory to support you with anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, loss, low self-esteem, bullying and other issues. Through working with adults in the NHS, as a social worker in a community mental health team, primary care mental health services and the UK’s Eating Disorders Charity, Beat, I have valuable experience of mental health and developing professional relationships with a range of clients which I draw on during my work.
I am authentic in my approach, and interested in listening, building trust and a non-judgemental relationship. Clients have said that I am personable, warm and feel able to talk to me as I have a calming presence.
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹Դ´), I am committed to working in accordance to the Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions (2018). I comply with the Â鶹Դ´â€™s principles and good practice ensuring I have regular supervision and training to maintain my professional practice.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation for new clients providing the opportunity to meet each other and for further information on my therapy practice.
