About me and my therapy practice
✨ Looking for a space where you can feel more like yourself?
Many of the people I work with are in their 20s, 30s, or 40s, navigating questions about who they are and where they belong. Some are exploring their sexuality or gender identity. Others feel weighed down by anxiety, low mood, or the pressure to meet everyone else’s expectations.
My clients often describe feeling disconnected from others, even when they aren’t alone. They may try to over-achieve to please the people around them, while privately struggling with shame, self-doubt, or a sense of being stuck. For some, family dynamics or a life transition leave them questioning their identity, purpose, or place in the world.
Therapy can offer a space to pause, reflect, and begin to reconnect—with yourself, your values, and the people who matter to you. You don’t need to have it all figured out; what matters is the wish for things to feel different.
👋 About Me
I’m Jamie, a Â鶹Դ´-registered integrative counsellor and an LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapist. I know through my own therapy how daunting it can feel to take the first step, which is why I aim to make sessions safe, supportive, and down-to-earth.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade in teaching and teacher education, where I learned the value of meeting people with warmth, curiosity, and respect. I bring that same approach to my counselling practice.
💬 How Therapy With Me Can Help
In our sessions, you’ll have space to speak openly without judgement. I’ll listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and sometimes gently challenge you—helping you understand yourself better, feel more grounded, and make changes that last.
🌈 Creating an Inclusive Space
I’m deeply committed to creating an LGBTQIA+ affirming and inclusive space. I pay attention to how culture, race, gender, sexuality, and life experiences shape who we are — and how they impact the challenges we face.
