About me and my therapy practice
I specialize in helping individuals break free from the grip of addiction and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. Addiction is not a sign of weakness, it’s a complex challenge that affects the mind, body, and spirit. My role is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can explore the root causes of addictive behaviors and discover new ways to cope, heal, and grow.
With training in evidence-based approaches and a deep understanding of the recovery process, I work alongside you to develop strategies that are tailored to your unique needs. Together, we’ll focus on building resilience, strengthening relationships, and finding healthy outlets that bring meaning and balance back into your life. I believe in progress, not perfection, and that every step forward, no matter how small, is worth celebrating.
I am particularly interested in working with clients at transition points in recovery, such as leaving treatment centres or beginning to re-engage with everyday life. I believe these moments are both opportunities for growth and times of heightened vulnerability. My current work in an addiction treatment centre has reinforced my interest in relapse prevention and in developing psychoeducational approaches that support clients as they prepare for the challenges ahead.
My counselling training has provided me with a strong ethical and theoretical foundation, but it is my lived experience and my ongoing commitment to personal therapy that continually deepen my practice. I value self-reflection highly and see my own growth as inseparable from the work I do with clients. In this sense, counselling for me is both a professional vocation and a personal calling. Ultimately, what drives me is a simple but powerful motivation: the desire to help people suffering with addiction to rediscover hope, self-worth, and the possibility of a fulfilling life.
