About me and my therapy practice
Hello. My name is Giuseppe(he/him). The main focus of my work is mens mental health. If you’re a man and you’ve been thinking about counselling but find it daunting, I can relate to you. Maybe you don’t want to open up or are worried about what might happen if you do. Maybe you don’t like the idea of sitting still in a room. The uncomfortable silences. The feeling like you’re being interrogated.
You have probably been thinking about this for a while but don’t know where to start. Talking to a stranger is a big thing, so should be done with care and support. Counselling is somewhere that you can be yourself without all the armour. It feels like a lot to let your guard down but it might also feel nice to let someone else in.
I will offer you space for you to get the time you need to work through whatever you’re struggling with. You won’t get told to act in a particular way and will not have to put on a brave face. You can be completely you, in order to connect with the parts of you that need attention.
The hardest part is reaching out. After that you will have someone beside you to help you along the way. A person who isn’t going to tell you what you should do, but will try to help you find your own answers.
I offer a free twenty minute chat to discuss any questions you may have and to see if we would be a good fit to work together. We can discuss whether you would like to work online, outdoors or a mixture of the two. We can also talk about any questions or concerns you have about working outdoors and what the experience may add to the sessions.
Practice description
I work both online and in person, outdoors in nature. Working outdoors can be a relief for people who don’t like the idea of therapy indoors. The natural world can add another dimension to the sessions, stimulating the mind and senses. Being in nature can give perspective on what you're going through. Moving can help the thought process and conversation can come easier when not stuck in one place.
My first session
Outdoor sessions take place in either Linn Park or Pollok Park in the south of Glasgow.
