Availability
I currently offer therapy online across the UK, with limited face-to-face appointments available in South London and the surrounding areas by arrangement. I work with adults and older adolescents (16+).
Online therapy provides flexibility and convenience, allowing you to access support from a space where you feel comfortable and secure. Many clients appreciate being able to fit sessions around work, family commitments, studies or other responsibilities.
I offer 50-minute sessions and currently have weekday availability, including a Wednesday evening appointment for those who are unable to attend during the day. I also offer a limited number of weekend appointments each month for clients who find weekday sessions difficult to attend.
If you're considering therapy and would like to explore whether we might be a good fit, I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. This provides an opportunity for us to briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, ask any questions you may have and decide whether working together feels right for you.
About me and my therapy practice
Perhaps you've been carrying more than most people realise. On the outside, you may appear to be coping, but inside you feel overwhelmed, exhausted, stuck in cycles of overthinking, or unsure how to move forward. You may be navigating anxiety, low self-worth, grief, burnout, relationship difficulties or a significant life change. Whatever has brought you to therapy, you don't have to carry it alone.
I'm Allison, a psychotherapist working with adults and older adolescents (16+), offering therapy online across the UK and in person in South London and the surrounding areas. I trained as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Los Angeles before settling in the UK. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 20 years working in education as an SEN teacher, supporting children, young people and families through a wide range of challenges.
These experiences continue to shape my understanding of how life experiences and our environment can influence emotional wellbeing.
My approach is warm, collaborative and tailored to you. I integrate person-centred and behavioural approaches, drawing on Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and CBT-informed strategies where appropriate. Together, we'll explore the thoughts, emotions and patterns that may be keeping you stuck, helping you develop self-awareness, emotional resilience and lasting change.
Therapy offers more than a space to talk. It can help you better understand yourself, strengthen emotional resilience and move towards a life that feels more meaningful.
My aim is to provide a compassionate, non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and supported. I don't believe therapy is about fixing who you are. It's about developing a deeper understanding of yourself and creating meaningful change in a way that feels right for you.
I welcome clients from all backgrounds and aim to provide a safe, inclusive and respectful space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace.
Practice description
I offer therapy for adults and older adolescents (16+), both online across the UK and in person in South London and the surrounding areas. My aim is to provide a warm, collaborative and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and supported.
My approach integrates Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centred therapy and CBT-informed approaches. Together, we'll explore the thoughts, emotions and patterns that may be keeping you stuck, helping you develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience and lasting change.
I recognise that every person is unique, so therapy is tailored to your individual needs, goals and circumstances. We will work together at a pace that feels right for you.
I work with clients experiencing:
• Anxiety and stress
• Low mood and depression
• Low self-worth and self-esteem
• Relationship difficulties
• Grief, bereavement and loss
• Burnout and work-related stress
• Life transitions
• Emotional regulation difficulties
• Behavioural change and personal growth
Whether you're facing a specific challenge or simply feel that something isn't quite right, therapy can help you gain greater clarity, understand yourself more deeply and move towards meaningful, lasting change.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation, giving us the opportunity to explore whether we're a good fit to work together. It's a chance for you to ask questions, briefly discuss what has brought you to therapy and learn more about how I work.
If you decide to move forward, our first 50-minute session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll explore what has brought you to therapy, your current concerns, any relevant background information and what you hope to gain from our work together.
There is no need to prepare anything in advance or have everything figured out. You are welcome to come exactly as you are. My aim is to provide a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you feel heard, understood and comfortable sharing your experiences at a pace that feels right for you.
