About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Jim, and who knows, together, we may just do something meaningful. So let’s start by getting to know each other, properly. I’m not going to give you my full life story, but I will say this: I’ve been around long enough to have experienced the full tapestry of life, it's light and it's shadows. I’ve spent over 25 years as a (blue light) front line worker, much of that time in safeguarding roles, protecting those often overlooked, unheard, or hurt by others. It’s work that’s challenged me, changed me, and revealed the quiet power of compassion, resilience, and presence.
This isn’t just the path I’ve chosen,it’s the kind of space I hold for others. As the NorthWest leading specialist in supporting victims of fraud, particularly romance fraud, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space to begin healing. My approach is integrative and person-centred, tailored to your unique needs.
Whether you're facing the emotional aftermath of betrayal, anxiety, PTSD, burnout, or grief, I’m here to help you breathe, reflect, and begin to untangle what’s going on. You don’t have to go through this alone.
Practice description
My approach is integrative and person-centred. I tailor therapy to your needs, whether you're facing anxiety, PTSD, burnout, grief, or simply feeling stuck. I offer a space where you can breathe, reflect, and begin to untangle what’s going on, without judgment or pressure.
Talking therapy helps you make sense of your experiences, gently process what’s been, and build more helpful ways of coping.
Sessions are available online or in person, including walk-and-talk therapy at Delamere Forest on Saturday mornings.
You don’t have to wait for breaking point. You don’t have to go it alone.
My first session
First Session Details
I offer a free consultation call, either online or by phone. This is simply a chance for us to meet, talk through what’s bringing you to therapy, and see whether we feel like a good fit. There’s no pressure to commit, and no obligation to continue if it doesn’t feel right for you.
During this first conversation, I’ll ask a few gentle questions to get a sense of your situation, what you’re hoping for, and any preferences or concerns you may have. You’re welcome to ask me questions too, about how I work, what to expect, or anything else that matters to you.
If you’d like to book a session with me, please visit my website: www.jdtherapyservices.com and use the booking page.
You’ll be prompted to make payment during the booking process, and I’ll then send you the intake form and therapy agreement. These outline confidentiality, boundaries, and practical details, helping to create a safe and respectful foundation for our work together.
Whether this is your very first step into therapy, or you’re returning after some time away, I understand it can feel daunting.
My intention is to make the process as welcoming and straightforward as possible.
