About me and my therapy practice

Hi, my name is Laura, I’m an integrative therapist.

I work using an integrative approach, which means I draw on different therapeutic modalities to suit your individual needs. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process, and the way I work allows your sessions to be shaped around you and what you bring, rather than fitting you into a single method.

A strong part of my approach is person-centred therapy, which places you at the heart of the work. You are given the time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings openly, without judgement, and at a pace that feels safe. Alongside this, I draw from psychodynamic therapy, which allows us to gently explore how your past experiences and early relationships may still be influencing your life today, sometimes in ways that might not yet feel obvious. This can deepen your understanding of recurring patterns, emotional triggers and the way you relate to yourself and others.

I also incorporate tools and techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which helps to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours. This part of the work can feel more practical, offering structure and coping strategies that support change in day-to-day life, especially around anxiety, overthinking or low self-esteem.

In addition to talking therapy, I am trained practitioner in Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT), a powerful method that supports people who are living with trauma, anxiety or emotionally charged memories. IEMT works with the way the brain stores emotional imprints and helps reduce the intensity of those feelings. One of the benefits of IEMT is that you do not need to revisit every detail of difficult or traumatic experiences in order to move forward, making it a gentle yet effective option for emotional healing.

This way of working means that your therapy is responsive, flexible and shaped around you. Some sessions may feel reflective, some may be focused on making changes or processing emotion, and that is absolutely okay.

Practice description

I offer both face-to-face and online counselling sessions from my private office in a calm, confidential and non-judgemental space. This is your time, your space, and your journey — a place where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences safely and at your own pace.

Sessions are 50 minutes in length and I work with clear and transparent session fees, ensuring you always know what to expect. I believe therapy should feel accessible, affordable, and supportive from the very first contact.

I work using an integrative therapeutic approach, which means I draw on different counselling methods to tailor sessions around your unique needs. No two people are the same, and neither is therapy — together, we will shape sessions that feel right for you.

I work with a variety of challenges, including:

Trauma and PTSD – Supporting clients to process painful experiences safely, reduce triggers and rebuild a sense of emotional security.

Anxiety and Stress – Helping manage worry, panic and overwhelm by exploring triggers and developing tools for calm and resilience.

Depression and Low Mood – Offering a reflective space to explore root causes, emotional patterns and ways of reconnecting with hope and motivation.

Grief and Loss – Providing compassionate support through bereavement, relationship endings or life changes.

Self-Esteem and Confidence – Challenging negative beliefs and building emotional strength and self-acceptance.

Relationships and Attachment – Exploring repeating patterns, difficult dynamics and boundaries to improve connection with others.

Emotional Regulation – Supporting clients to manage strong emotions and develop healthier coping strategies.

Work-Related Stress and Burnout – Helping regain balance, confidence and clarity when work pressure becomes overwhelming.

This is your counselling journey, and I am here to walk alongside you in whichever direction you choose to take — offering support, understanding, and professional guidance every step of the way.

My first session

I understand that starting therapy can feel like a big step, so I aim to make the process as comfortable and reassuring as possible. I offer a free 20-minute meet and greet so you can get a sense of how I work and decide whether I feel like the right therapist for you. This can take place either online or face to face from my office — whichever feels right for you and fits your needs.

This initial conversation is informal and relaxed. It’s simply an opportunity for us to meet, talk about what brings you to therapy, and explore what you hope to gain from the process. It’s also your chance to ask any questions you may have, discuss practicalities and get a feel for whether therapy alongside me is the right fit for you.

Unlike some therapists, I do not use formal assessments in the first session unless you specifically ask for one or feel it would be useful. Instead, I believe in working collaboratively and conversationally. We will openly discuss what you would like your therapy journey to look like, what matters most to you, and what you hope to explore or change. Together, we will agree on a way of working that feels safe, comfortable and meaningful for you.

This is your space, your voice and your journey — and I am here to walk alongside you from the very beginning.
