About me and my therapy practice
I know that life can be difficult and distressing at times and that being human - perhaps especially in today’s world – can seem complex and complicated. At times we may experience loneliness, pain, anxiety, trauma, despair, isolation or loss. Sometimes we suffer and cannot explain or reason why.
When we seek therapy, it is important to find someone with whom we can trust our thoughts, feelings and emotions; someone who is committed to working with compassion and kindness to try to understand us, and all our interconnected parts. If we worked together, I would hope to be this person for you. I offer a warm, open, and respectful welcome as someone who is deeply curious about people, their stories, and their present, past and future experiences. I would love to work alongside you to help you feel a greater sense of ease in your mind, in your body, and in the world.
As someone who has lived, and worked, in many different countries, I am used to meeting new people and wondering about cultural influences, race, identity, and belonging. I embrace difference and uniqueness and value the healing power of the therapeutic relationship and the ways in which change happens, and shifts occur, when we are listened to, and feel seen, safe and understood.
Alongside private practice, I work for the NHS University Hospitals Sussex in both a counselling and teaching role. Before training as a counsellor, I worked as a primary school teacher and have significant experience of building relationships with people of all ages and facilitating growth.
I look forward to hearing from you.
