About me and my therapy practice
Change is possible and often simple, but not always easy. To change we need to willingly embrace uncertainty and trust the process of transformation. My role as a counsellor is to support you as you identify, explore, and enact the changes you want to make in your life and I'm committed to walking alongside you as you travel a path that may feel difficult and unfamiliar – though hopefully exciting because with change comes hope and possibility.
The therapeutic experience is a journey in which my role is to help you explore your surroundings and navigate new and perhaps daunting paths. I might point out landmarks you've missed and help you take new routes, encouraging fresh discoveries. As the firefly represents self-illumination and self-awareness, I trust that you inherently know what's right for you – I'm here to offer support and encouragement as you grow towards the life you truly want for yourself. Together we find a light in the darkness.
My counselling integrates Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Person-centred theory and I offer various techniques that may be approached in a profound or creative way.
• Transactional Analysis explores how we relate to ourselves and others, aiming to improve communication and resolve emotional challenges. Together, we’ll identify behavioural patterns and consider meaningful changes to enhance your interactions
• Gestalt Therapy supports present-moment awareness and self-acceptance. Our work invites deeper exploration of your current thoughts, feelings, and behaviours within the context of your life, fostering holistic understanding
• Person-Centred Therapy forms the foundation of our work, emphasising a supportive relationship and your innate capacity for growth. I provide a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore your experiences and move toward self-discovery
As we are all unique, I believe an integrative approach enables me to work with each client in a way that suits them and their particular issues or circumstances.
Practice description
I currently offer in-person sessions through Talking Wellness at the Atkins Building, Hinckley, and online sessions via Microsoft Teams with an initial, free, no obligation phone consultation to discuss your needs and what I can offer you. This gives us a chance to discuss your needs and goals and how I work whilst allowing you to ask me any questions you may have.
