About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Jenny and I created JV Counselling with one mission in mind: to help people reconnect with themselves and find their path forward, with support that is tailored to you and your individual needs.
As a qualified counsellor holding registered membership with the Â鶹Դ´ , I offer person-centred and integrative therapy, CBT, creative therapy and trauma-informed practice, drawing from different therapeutic approaches to best meet what you're going through.
I also have experiece with military life, I served in the Royal Air Force for 14 years. This experience gave me a deep understanding of the unique pressures that come with service life , the demands of military culture, the challenges of deployment, and the significant life transition that leaving the forces can bring. I understand how difficult it can be to adjust to civilian life and the complex emotions that can arise when your identity has been so closely tied to your service.
Running my bridal business has taught me how to guide people through some of the most exciting yet stressful moments of their lives. I can offer a space to talk calmly about your pressures around work or business, manage heightened emotions, and create a space for open conversations.
My life experiences have taught me the value of resilience, empathy, and authenticity. I’ve faced challenges, navigated change, and learned that being real, not perfect, is what truly connects us. These experiences allow me to meet clients without judgement, understanding that everyone’s journey is unique. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or stuck, and I use that insight to create a safe, genuine space where you can talk openly. I believe in practical, compassionate support that meets you where you are, helping you move forward in a way that feels authentic to you. My practice focusses soley on you and tailoring therapy to give you what you need from our sessions together.
Practice description
My mission is to walk alongside you as you rediscover your strength, build resilience, and move toward the life you want to lead, whatever that looks like for you, we are all unique. I believe in these three words:
Heal
I provide a nurturing, judgment-free environment where you can feel safe to explore painful or confusing experiences and begin to process them at your own pace. I meet every client with empathy, warmth, compassion, and deep respect for their individual journey.
Change
Through talking, insight, and confidentiality, we work together to uncover patterns, shift perspectives, and build tools for real, lasting change. Your trust is sacred, and your privacy is always respected.
Grow
Counselling isn't just about helping solve problems. It's also about helping you grow into a stronger, more confident version of yourself. I believe in your capacity for growth, even when things feel hard or unclear. I believe that every person is unique, which is why I offer an integrative tailored approach to counselling. This means I don't follow a one-size-fits-all method. Instead, I draw from different therapeutic approaches to create a plan that's built specifically around your individual needs, experiences, and goals.
For some clients, this might mean using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to work through specific thought patterns. For others, a person-centred approach that focuses on your own insights and self-discovery might be more helpful.
Sometimes talking alone can feel difficult, which is why I also use creative therapy approaches as part of my holistic practice. Creative therapy uses non-verbal tools and artistic processes to help you explore your thoughts and feelings in different ways.
What this means for you is that our work together will be shaped by what you need, not by what a textbook says should work. We'll adapt our approach as we go, ensuring that the support you receive is truly tailored to help you move forward.
My first session
Ready to Start?
If you'd like to find out more about how I might help you, I'd be happy to have a brief conversation about what your situation is. There's no commitment, just an opportunity to discuss your needs and see if we might be a good fit to work together. This is at no cost and will last about 20 minutes.
If you decide to go ahead with therapy, your first counselling appointment with me involves an assessment, which is simply a chance for us to get to know each other and understand what has brought you here. We’ll talk about your current situation, any challenges you’re facing, and what you hope to achieve from counselling. I may ask some questions about your background, wellbeing, and support networks, but there’s no rush, you can share only what you feel comfortable with. This session also gives you the opportunity to ask me questions, learn about how I work, and decide if you feel I am the right fit for you. Together, we’ll start to outline a plan to support your needs moving forward.
Brief telephone consultation at no charge to discuss your needs and see if we're a good fit to work together
