About me and my therapy practice
I am passionate about counselling and person-centred psychotherapy, and the powerful role it can play in helping people navigate life’s challenges. At the heart of my approach is a deep respect for each individual’s unique experience — I truly believe that every person is their own expert. I aim to support clients in reconnecting with their own strengths, so they can move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and self-awareness.
I have experience working with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, grief, neurodiversity, and life transitions. I have particular insight into supporting clients with autism, ADHD, and dyslexia, from both a personal and professional background.
Whether you're looking to explore a specific issue or simply want space to reflect and grow, I offer a warm, non-judgmental environment where your voice is heard and your experience is valued.
Practice description
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and my aim is to make that step feel as comfortable and supportive as possible. From our first contact, you can expect a calm, non-judgmental space where you are free to talk openly and be heard with compassion and respect.
I believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to walk alongside you — to listen, reflect, and help you explore your experiences so that you can better understand yourself and find the way forward that feels right for you.
Our work together will move at your pace. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, grief, life changes, or other challenges, I will tailor our sessions to meet your unique needs and goals. I bring experience working with autism, ADHD, and dyslexia, and I offer a neuro-affirming approach that honours difference, not deficit.
I may occasionally gently introduce mindfulness-based ideas or practices if they feel helpful — always with your input and choice at the centre.
Most importantly, you can expect to be met with warmth, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting you.
My first session
Before your first session, I offer a free 20-minute phone call. This gives us a chance to connect and talk briefly about what’s bringing you to therapy, as well as what you might expect from working together. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask any questions and get a sense of whether I might be the right therapist for you.
In our first session, we’ll begin to get to know each other in a more in-depth way. As a person-centred therapist, I am guided by what feels most important to you. You are welcome to bring whatever you feel ready to share. That said, it’s often helpful in the first session to talk about what you hope to gain from therapy and how we might use our time together. This helps us build a shared understanding and begin to shape the direction of our work.
There’s no pressure to have everything figured out — therapy is a space to explore at your own pace. My role is to support you in that process with warmth, curiosity, and respect.
