About me and my therapy practice
Having therapy on the phone can be a really effective way to get to where you ultimately want to be.
Being able to arrange sessions without travelling to a therapist's room can be really convenient and also means you can choose a place to be to have therapy that feels comfortable and safe for you. It also gives you a wide choice of therapists who do not need to live within travelling distance of you, giving you a better chance of finding the therapist that is right for you.
There is also the liberating factor of not being seen on the phone, which often means it is easier to talk about more painful subjects and to feel less 'observed', which can suit many people.
I spent several years as a Samaritan and really cherish the phone as a way of people communicating their deepest pains whilst being really heard by someone who wants to understand how they are feeling. I bring all of this experience with me as a therapist and will give you a space where I will really listen to everything you say with the intention of trying to understand you and the world the way you perceive it.
The transformative effect this has can be deeply healing and can help you feel empowered to make the changes you want in your life.
Practice description
Phone sessions are arranged at a time slot that is convenient for you each week. I will call you on the number you provide and check you are in a place that is comfortable, safe and where you will not be disturbed, before handing the session over to you to see what you would like to explore.
I am a fully insured as a practitioner with full public liability insurance and I am registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office) as a registered data controller.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute introductory call to explore what you re looking to find from counselling. You are welcome to ask any questions that would help you decide whether I would be the right counsellor for you.
In the first session, I give you the space to bring whatever feels right for you at the time. I won't try to steer you in any direction or try to 'fix' you in any way. By having the time and space to follow your own thoughts, and to respond to your feelings as they arise in the session, you may well start to come to your own realisations or you may feel the lightness and release of sharing what's going on for you with someone who really wants to listen.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello. I'm Lisa.
You might feel lost, stuck, angry or like you need to rediscover who you really are.
Sometimes life can feel too much. It can be overwhelming when things are going wrong and not turning out as you had hoped. Maybe you have lost sight of your real self while you are so busy dealing with everything life is throwing at you. Having a space where you can spend 50 minutes of time, focusing just on you and what really matters to you, can be potent and deeply healing.
In therapy sessions I will listen to whatever you have to say with the intention of really trying to understand your world and how you see it. My hope for you is that the transformative effect of feeling safe, connected and truly understood is deeply healing and helps you feel empowered to make the changes you want in your life.
Practice description
I offer face to face sessions for 50 minutes in a lovely, calm room in Canterbury*, working with anyone over the age of 16.
You can have as many or as few sessions as you want, as the therapy will be centred around you telling me what your needs are.
I am trained in person-centred therapy, which means that I put a radical trust into you knowing best how to do what's right for you. My expertise lies in truly listening to you and being with you in a therapeutic relationship, which will enable you to really tune into what you really want from your life and to discover how to get there.
* Please note that the therapy room is only accessible via stairs. I offer phone therapy for anyone who would not be able to access the room.
