Availability

I currently have availability for new online and phone clients from Tuesday to Friday.

If you would like a free phone or Zoom introductory session, where we can find out if you think we would be a good fit and explore how therapy might help you, I would love to hear from you.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Lisa. If something in your life feels off right now and you're not quite sure how to talk about it or where to start, that's okay. You don't need to have it figured out before getting in touch and we can have a free no obligation chat on the phone or on Zoom to give you a sense of who I am and if I would be the right counsellor for you.

I'm a therapist based in Kent with rooms in Canterbury and Hythe, and I work with people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or like they really don't know where to turn to next. I have particular experience working with:

* Anxiety and depression

* Addiction (alcohol, drugs, sex, porn)

* Bereavement and loss

* Neurodivergence, particularly ADHD and autism

* Sexual abuse

* Suicidal ideation

* Loss of confidence and major life changes

Whatever's brought you here, you don't need to fit neatly into a category. If something feels hard and you need a space to talk, that's enough. A lot of people find that having someone truly listen, not to fix or advise, but to deeply listen and try to understand, helps things feel clearer and lighter than they expected.

I offer sessions in person, by phone, or online, so distance is never a barrier and I warmly welcome clients from anywhere in the UK.

Practice description

I am a person-centred therapeutic counsellor. This means that I am really interested in understanding the world the way you experience it, and hearing about how you feel and think about things. I will stay alongside you as you bring whatever feels right to therapy, and I will be by your side championing you and helping you to access your own self-compassion, awareness and acceptance. This can lead to really big changes as you move towards being a more authentic version of yourself, rather than living a life that doesn't feel aligned to where you really want to be.

My rate is £65 per session. Concessions are available - please ask for more details if you would be interested in knowing more.

My first session

I offer a free initial conversation (of around 20/30 minutes) so you can get a feel for what working together might be like, with absolutely no pressure to continue if you don't feel like I am the right counsellor for you. This can be on the phone or on Zoom.

In the therapy sessions, which are 50 minutes long, I won't ask any intrusive questions because I will wait for you to tell me what you want to bring to therapy. You can go at a pace that feels right for you and explore what you want to look at in your own time, once you feel the trust between us has built and you feel safe to explore feelings, thoughts or experiences that might be really hard to talk about.
