About me and my therapy practice
I'm Henry, a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor based in North London.
My practise as a counsellor prioritises creating a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space, in which empathy and compassion for your concerns are ever-present. My training as a Humanistic counsellor is grounded in the belief that every individual has a capacity for growth, self-awareness, and healing from difficult life experiences or traumas. I aim to help you achieve this by establishing a strong therapeutic relationship in which you feel safe and understood, and by helping you connect with your core values and authentic self.
My integrative approach combines both Humanistic ‘here and now’ principles and techniques (Person-centred counselling, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, and CBT) with an occasional focus on early life experiences, allowing the flexibility to tailor the therapy to meet your specific needs and achieve your goals. This can include the provision of tools to manage stress and anxiety such as grounding and somatic exercises, as well as psychoeducation, and creative interventions.
Practice description
I have experience working with clients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, and life experiences, and appreciate that these factors contribute to each individual’s unique experience of life.
I am able to support clients through challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, addiction, sexuality, gender identity, loss and bereavement.
I am currently only working online.

My first session
Our first two or three sessions together will be an assessment phase in which I will find out what brings you to counselling, learn about your life and the significant relationships in it, and finally explore what changes you wish to make. It is an opportunity for you to share the issues that have been causing you concern, and also to gauge whether the dynamic between us is a good fit for you. It will be my priority to make you feel as safe, supported, and understood as possible during these early sessions, and to forge a strong therapeutic relationship.
