About me and my therapy practice

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on person-centred and psychodynamic approaches to help us explore your thoughts and feelings and begin to make sense of them. Whatever brings you to counselling will be met with care, compassion, and respect. Rather than offering advice or quick solutions, I support you to develop a deeper understanding of yourself by exploring the patterns, emotions, and relationships that shape your experience.

Working integratively allows me to respond flexibly to what you bring to each session. Together, we can focus on your current challenges and feelings, while also gently considering how past experiences may be influencing you in the present.

My aim is to provide a confidential and supportive therapeutic space where you feel safe to speak openly about your thoughts and feelings, including things that may feel difficult to share elsewhere. We can navigate whatever you are facing, whether that’s anxiety, everyday worries, or unresolved past trauma.

I believe that growth and healing happen through safe, genuine connection, and that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change.

Practice description

In our sessions, you’ll find a calm, non-judgmental, and confidential space where your story is met with compassion and curiosity — not pressure or expectation. Whether you’re coping with the impact of past trauma, struggling to feel grounded in the present, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, I will walk alongside you at your own pace, sometimes gently supporting you to explore your thoughts and feelings more deeply.

Clients often come to counselling feeling anxious, low, or overwhelmed by difficult thoughts and emotions. I offer support in a compassionate and steady way, allowing us to be curious together about how you’re feeling now, as well as how your past experiences and relationships may have shaped you.

I also have experience working within a trauma-informed model, which prioritises safety and stabilisation before exploring traumatic experiences. If trauma is part of your story, we will work carefully and sensitively, ensuring you feel supported and held within the therapeutic relationship as we make sense of what you’ve been through.

Throughout our work, we will regularly reflect on what we’ve explored and consider how these insights might help you cope with current challenges, with the hope that life begins to feel more manageable and easier to navigate.

My first session

I offer a complimentary 15-minute initial phone call, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions and for us to explore how we might work together.

After this call, you can decide whether you’d like to begin counselling sessions — there’s no pressure or obligation. Finding a counsellor you feel comfortable with and able to open up to is important.

If you choose to continue, sessions are 50 minutes long and usually take place at the same time each week to provide consistency and stability.

Online sessions are held via Microsoft Teams, and you’ll receive a unique link by email ahead of our first meeting.

During our first session, we’ll complete an initial assessment, where you can talk more about what brings you to counselling and what you hope for from our work together. This helps me understand how best to support you.

I work with clients on an open-ended basis, which means our work can be short- or longer-term. We’ll regularly review our sessions to make sure the support feels helpful and continues to meet your needs.
