About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Lucy. I help people living with a sense of loss, perhaps through bereavement, the end of a relationship, changes in health, or experiences that have affected their sense of safety or self. 

Loss can take many forms, and each can leave you feeling disconnected, unsettled, and unsure of who you are now. I am here to truly listen to you, to hear your thoughts, to understand your experiences. The space I offer will also allow you to hear yourself more clearly, so you can navigate your thoughts and feelings and find a way forward.

Practice description

In-person & Online

I offer counselling in person in Shoreham-by-Sea and online. My therapy studio is a private, calm, cosy room in my garden and is located in a peaceful, residential area of town.

Approach

In my work, I draw mainly on person-centred and psychodynamic approaches. This means that as well as offering a safe and supportive space to work through difficulties, at times we may explore how earlier experiences and your unconscious patterns of behaviour are influencing the present. As these links become clearer, there is often greater freedom to make different choices as you grow.

Please fill out the contact form if you’d like to explore working with me. We can arrange a free 30-minute chat (online or by phone), where I’ll listen to what’s going on in your life and you can decide if taking the next step with sessions feels right.

Next steps

If you wish to proceed, we can schedule a regular weekly 50-minute session. After our conversation, I would email you information about logistics and the counselling agreement so we share a clear understanding of how therapy will work. 

First session

In our first session, we’ll review the agreement, answer any questions, and then focus on exploring your experiences in more depth.
