About me and my therapy practice
I provide medium to long term therapy to my clients.
With over 20 years’ experience as a Senior Lead Consultant in the recruitment sector, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals from all walks of life. This has deepened my understanding of human resilience, the value of connection, and the importance of compassionate support.
My own experience of therapy has been profoundly transformative, strengthening my belief in its ability to bring about lasting, meaningful change. This combination of professional insight and personal growth underpins my therapeutic work.
Practice description
Before beginning therapy, I offer a free 20-minute consultation call. This is an opportunity for us to connect, talk about what’s bringing you to counselling or therapy, and explore whether my approach and style feel like the right fit for your needs. It’s a relaxed and informal conversation where you can ask any questions about how I work, my therapeutic approach, or what to expect from the counselling process. There’s no obligation to commit — simply space for you to get a sense of whether this feels right.
After our call, I’ll encourage you to take some time to reflect. If you feel comfortable moving forward, we’ll arrange regular weekly therapy sessions at a time that suits you. Sessions can take place online or in person, depending on what feels most comfortable for you.
In our first counselling session, we’ll begin by reviewing our working agreement, which sets out the boundaries, confidentiality, and expectations of our therapeutic relationship. From there, we’ll start to explore what you’d like to focus on — whether that’s anxiety, low mood, depression, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, family dynamics, past trauma, or simply a wish for greater self-awareness, clarity, and personal growth.
My approach is integrative, person-centred, and systemic, meaning I take into account not only your individual experiences and emotions but also the wider relationships and systems that shape your life — such as family, work, culture, or community. We’ll work collaboratively and at a pace that feels right for you, drawing from a range of therapeutic models to meet your unique needs.
I aim to offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted. Together, we’ll make sense of your experiences, explore patterns in relationships, and build tools for resilience, emotional regulation, and wellbeing.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and life experiences at your own pace.
My name is Sonia, and I am a qualified Integrative Therapist based in the UK. I provide online counselling for adults (18 and over), offering professional, compassionate, and flexible support wherever you are.
My Approach
As an Integrative Counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic models to tailor our work to your unique needs. My core approach is Person-Centred Therapy, which is grounded in empathy, acceptance, and understanding. You are at the centre of our sessions — your experiences, emotions, and personal goals shape the direction of our work together.
My aim is to create a calm, confidential, and inclusive environment where you can explore your experiences freely, gain insight, and find ways to manage life’s challenges more effectively.
What I Offer
I provide one-to-one online counselling sessions lasting 50 minutes. These can be short-term (focused on specific challenges) or long-term (to support deeper personal growth and ongoing wellbeing).
I work with adults who may be experiencing a range of emotional or psychological difficulties, including:
Anxiety and stress
Depression and low mood
Low self-esteem and confidence issues
Relationship and family difficulties
Loss, grief, and bereavement
Living with illness or disability
Neurodiversity, including ADHD and Autism
Personal growth and life transitions
All sessions take place online, offering comfort, accessibility, and flexibility to fit your lifestyle.
I also offer concessionary sessions for counsellors in training, providing a supportive and reflective space to explore your own process as you develop professionally.
At Flavius Counselling Services, my goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive, lasting change.
Practice description
Compassionate online counselling for adults across the UK. Person-centred, integrative therapy with Sonia at Flavius Counselling Services.
My name is Sonia, and I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor offering online therapy for adults (18 and over) across the UK. I provide a warm, person-centred approach to help you feel heard, understood, and supported as you navigate life’s challenges.
As a Person-Centred Therapist, I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is to offer empathy, acceptance, and understanding, creating a therapeutic space where you can develop greater self-awareness and confidence. I integrate other approaches as needed to tailor the work to your individual needs and goals.
I support clients with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, loss and bereavement, life transitions, chronic illness, disability, and neurodiversity (ADHD and Autism). Whether you’re struggling with day-to-day pressures or exploring deeper patterns, counselling can help you make sense of your experiences and move towards positive change.
All sessions are held online, offering flexibility, accessibility, and comfort from your own space. Sessions last 50 minutes and can be either short-term (to focus on specific challenges) or longer-term (to support deeper exploration and personal growth).
At Flavius Counselling Services, I am committed to providing an inclusive, non-judgemental environment where every client feels respected and valued. My aim is to support you in finding clarity, resilience, and greater emotional wellbeing.
My first session
Your first session with Flavius Counselling Services is a welcoming introduction to counselling and an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I understand that beginning therapy can feel like a big step, so I aim to make this first meeting calm, supportive, and reassuring.
The initial consultation lasts 50 minutes and takes place online, giving you the flexibility to connect from a private and comfortable environment. During this session, we’ll explore what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to gain, and any areas or goals you’d like to focus on. It’s also a space for you to ask questions about how I work and what to expect as we move forward.
As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to listen with empathy, acceptance, and understanding, providing a safe and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. This first session is a consultation, offering time to reflect on whether my approach feels right for you and to decide how you would like to continue.
I offer counselling for a range of emotional and personal challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, relationship difficulties, loss and bereavement, chronic illness, disability, ADHD, and Autism. My practice is inclusive and supportive, and I am committed to offering a space where all clients feel valued and understood.
We’ll also discuss practical details such as confidentiality, privacy, session length, fees, and how counselling is structured, so you have a clear understanding of the process.
By the end of our consultation, you can decide whether you’d like to continue with regular sessions — either short-term (to focus on specific issues) or long-term (for deeper exploration and ongoing support).
The first session is charged at my standard session rate.
At Flavius Counselling Services, my aim is to help you feel heard, understood, and empowered as you begin your counselling journey.
