About me and my therapy practice

I offer online integrative counselling for adults, providing medium- to long-term therapy in a consistent and supportive space where deeper understanding and meaningful change can gently unfold. Many people seek counselling when they are experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, depression, relationship difficulties, or challenges with self-esteem. Counselling provides a safe and compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment.

Before training as a counsellor, I spent over 20 years working closely with people from diverse backgrounds and life stages. In that time, I witnessed the resilience people carry, the quiet struggles they often manage alone, and the profound impact of being truly listened to. These experiences shaped my respect for the human story and my belief in the importance of compassionate connection.

My own experience of counselling has been deeply transformative. It helped me better understand myself, soften long-held patterns, and experience what it truly means to be met with empathy and acceptance. This personal journey continues to inform my work and strengthens my belief that counselling can be a powerful space for meaningful and lasting change.

I bring together professional experience, personal understanding, and a person-centred approach, offering a counselling relationship where you are heard, respected, and supported as you explore what matters most to you. My approach is integrative, meaning that I draw from different counselling approaches depending on your individual needs, while remaining focused on creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space.

I also take a systemic perspective, recognising that our experiences are shaped by our relationships, environments, and cultural contexts. Together, we can explore patterns, beliefs, and experiences that may be affecting your wellbeing while also recognising your strengths and capacity for change.

Practice description

You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or struggling with low mood, stress, or challenges in your relationships. Perhaps you feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or you find yourself feeling emotionally drained, disconnected, or uncertain about the direction of your life. For many people, reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you have been managing things on your own for a long time.

Taking that step can also be the beginning of something meaningful. Counselling offers a space where you can pause, reflect, and talk openly about what you are experiencing. It can provide an opportunity to feel heard, understood and supported while exploring the thoughts, feelings and experiences that may be affecting your wellbeing.

I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever is happening in your life at your own pace. My aim is to provide a safe and confidential environment where you feel comfortable speaking honestly about your experiences, whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, or simply feel that something in your life is not quite right.

Many people come to counselling when they feel overwhelmed by the pressures of everyday life. Work-related stress, family responsibilities, relationship challenges, past experiences, and personal expectations can all contribute to feelings of anxiety, emotional exhaustion or low mood. Therapy can help you begin to understand these experiences more clearly and develop ways of responding to them that feel healthier and more supportive of your wellbeing.

Counselling is not about being told what to do or having someone 鈥渇ix鈥 your problems. Instead, it is a collaborative process where we work together to explore what is happening in your life and help you gain deeper insight into your thoughts, emotions and patterns of behaviour.

My first session

Starting therapy can feel like a significant step, and it is important that you feel comfortable with the therapist you choose.

I offer a free introductory call, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions and briefly talk about what has brought you to counselling. This also allows us to see whether working together feels like the right fit for you.

If you decide to continue, we can arrange regular sessions and begin exploring what you would like to focus on in therapy. After our call, I鈥檒l invite you to take some time to reflect. If it feels right to move forward, we can arrange regular weekly sessions at a time that works for you. Sessions are offered online

Our first session is an opportunity for you to settle into the space. We鈥檒l go through our working agreement together so that you feel clear about confidentiality, boundaries, and what you can expect from our time together.

From there, the space is yours. We can begin exploring whatever feels most important for you. This might include experiences such as anxiety, low mood, stress, burnout, relationship or family difficulties, or past experiences that still feel present in your life. You may also come to therapy with a wish for greater clarity, self-understanding, or personal growth.

My approach is integrative, person-centred, and systemic. This means I hold you at the centre of the work while also recognising the wider relationships, environments, and cultural contexts that shape your experiences. We will work collaboratively and at a pace that feels right for you, drawing on different therapeutic approaches in ways that best support your individual needs.

Above all, I aim to offer a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted. Together we can begin to make sense of your experiences, notice patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing, and gently build resilience and self-trust as you move forward.

I provide online counselling sessions that are flexible, accessible, and private, ideal for those balancing work, family, or other commitments. Sessions are 50 minutes and can be short-term or longer-term, depending on what feels most helpful. Whether you are looking for support with anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, relationships, grief, trauma, or self-esteem, counselling can help you navigate difficulties.

My first session

In our first session, we鈥檒l take time to settle in and create a safe and supportive space together. We鈥檒l gently review our working agreement, covering confidentiality, boundaries, and what you can expect from counselling. This is a chance for you to ask questions, share any concerns, and feel fully informed 鈥 there is no rush.

From there, we鈥檒l begin exploring, at a pace that feels manageable, what has brought you to therapy and what you might like to focus on. There鈥檚 no pressure to share everything at once or to know exactly where to start. Sessions are collaborative, with your voice, choices, and boundaries at the centre of the process.

This first session also gives you the opportunity to experience online counselling, noticing how it feels to be listened to and supported in a safe, private environment. Therapy is not about 鈥渇ixing鈥 anything immediately; it is about beginning to build trust, openness, and understanding.

Our aim is to create a foundation for deeper exploration and meaningful change, whether you are seeking support for anxiety, depression, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, or self-esteem. Together, we can start to uncover patterns, gain insight, and explore ways to feel more resilient and supported in your life.
