Availability

I currently have availability for new clients. I work all day on Mondays and offer evening and weekend sessions to accommodate different schedules.

My sessions are £45 and last around 50 minutes. We’ll agree on a time that works best for both of us, and you’re welcome to book a regular weekly slot for consistency and continuity.

I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call before we begin working together. This isn’t a counselling session, but a relaxed opportunity to get to know each other, explore what you’re looking for, and see whether we might be a good fit.

Concessions are available for students and trainee counsellors, subject to availability. If this applies to you, please feel free to get in touch to discuss reduced-rate sessions.

If you’d like to book a consultation or ask any questions, I’d be very happy to hear from you.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Freya, an Integrative Counsellor and registered member of the Â鶹ԭ´´. I support young adults and adults (16+) to explore life’s challenges in a compassionate, safe, and client-led way.

My approach is integrative, drawing on Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, CBT, and Attachment Theory models. This allows me to tailor sessions to your individual needs and pace. Counselling with me is a collaborative process, we’ll work together to explore what’s happening for you, build self-understanding, and support meaningful change.

I work from a neuroaffirming perspective and have particular experience supporting autistic and ADHD clients. Alongside my private practice, I work in a specialised role supporting autistic adults, which continually enriches my practice and understanding of neurodiversity.

My aim is to offer a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions openly. I believe everyone has the capacity for growth and that counselling can help you reconnect with your strengths and sense of self.

I offer both face-to-face sessions in Clifton Moor, York, and online counselling for those who prefer to meet remotely.

Practice description

My practice offers a calm and confidential space to explore whatever is on your mind — whether it’s anxiety, low mood, grief, self-esteem, relationships, life changes, trauma, or neurodivergent identity. Sessions are usually 50 minutes long and take place weekly, either in person or online via Microsoft Teams.

I work relationally and collaboratively, placing importance on the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful work. Together, we’ll explore your experiences, patterns, and emotions to build awareness and develop new ways of understanding and responding to challenges.

I aim to make counselling accessible and inclusive. My practice is wheelchair accessible with free on-site parking, and I have Level 1 British Sign Language to support communication where helpful.

My first session

I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call before we begin counselling. This is an informal chat rather than a therapy session and gives us an opportunity to introduce ourselves, talk about what brings you to counselling, and see if we feel comfortable working together.

If you decide to continue, I’ll send you a counselling agreement before our first 50-minute session. This outlines how we’ll work together, including confidentiality and practical details. You’ll have time to read through it, and we can go over it together at the start of your first session so you can ask any questions or clarify anything that feels important.

During that first session, we’ll explore what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to gain, and any background that feels relevant. I may ask some gentle questions to help me understand your needs, but there’s no pressure, you can share at your own pace.

My aim is for you to leave the first session with a clearer sense of what counselling might offer and how we can work together in a way that feels safe and supportive for you.
