About me and my therapy practice
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Jake Alexander, a Â鶹Դ´-registered, person-centred counsellor offering a safe, supportive, and confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
My aim is to help you feel empowered in your therapeutic journey. I believe in your innate capacity for growth, healing, and self-understanding. My practice is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. I offer a relationship where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and accepted. Whether you’re facing a life challenge, working through complex emotions, or seeking deeper self-awareness, I am here to support you.
I work collaboratively with you, helping you explore your experiences in ways that brings clarity, freedom, and resilience.
Practice description
While my foundation is person-centred, I also integrate other approaches when helpful, such as techniques to build motivation, enhance self-compassion, or develop healthier coping strategies. Our work is always guided by your pace and priorities.
I have experience counselling people from diverse backgrounds, including those living with mental health difficulties, neurodiversity, substance misuse and recovery, homelessness, and long-term health conditions. With over 15 years experience in health and social care, I have a strong understanding of how life circumstances from chronic illness to systemic pressures can affect wellbeing.
My personal journey, professional experience, and lived realities have shaped me into a grounded, compassionate practitioner who values each person’s unique story and the importance of feeling safe and understood.
I offer concessions to health and social care keyworkers, students, and people on low income.
